The 6′ Pearstone Type A Male to Type A Female Extension Cable provides a reliable way to connect USB devices to your computer for charging and data transfer. The cable allows you to benefit from the USB 3.0 SuperSpeed maximum transfer rate of 5 Gbps, which is ten times faster than USB 2.0.
This premium cable features two unidirectional paths that simultaneously transmit and receive data. With a maximum throughput of 900 mA for configured high power devices, the cable is capable of powering bigger devices that require more energy. Additionally, USB 3.0 standard type A connectors are backwards compatible with USB 2.0 standard A — as long as one of the devices is USB 3.0 compliant.

Pearstone seems to make really solid cables. I’ve now bought 3 of their swiveling HDMI cables, and decided to go with them again for this USB extension cable. Yet again, they deliver just fine. Nothing jumps out at me as being wrong with the cable. It’s well made, fairly sturdy for a cable, and pretty inexpensive for what you get.

So I originally bought this for my desktop to plug in external harddrives without having to balance my hard drive on the desktop since they came with cables less than 1′ long. This cable has worked great for USBs but it didn’t work for my external SSD. It kept causing my comp to freeze when transferring data. Did a straight connection to the SSD and worked flawlessly.
