The 6′ Pearstone Type A Male to Type A Female Extension Cable provides a reliable way to connect USB devices to your computer for charging and data transfer. The cable allows you to benefit from the USB 3.0 SuperSpeed maximum transfer rate of 5 Gbps, which is ten times faster than USB 2.0.
This premium cable features two unidirectional paths that simultaneously transmit and receive data. With a maximum throughput of 900 mA for configured high power devices, the cable is capable of powering bigger devices that require more energy. Additionally, USB 3.0 standard type A connectors are backwards compatible with USB 2.0 standard A — as long as one of the devices is USB 3.0 compliant.

A clean package that works great.

Exactly what we needed. The key was knowing that Male to Female means it is a normal extension cable for a USB mouse, which is how we’re using it. The fit was great and there have been no issues using it.

Works great, no problems on a video link (USB 3.0).

It works great with the USB 3.0 cable provided with the D810.

I use my PC as a combined gaming rig, workstation, and home entertainment center, so I need long cords to allow my tower to plug into everything that I want it to plug into. Cables like these are a godsend! I also use these with my laptop and headphones (with a 3.5mm to USB adapter) while doing chores and other busywork.

I bought this cable because the one our school’s studio had had been worn down and didn’t maintain a connection. I bought this knowing that I could use it for multiple camera’s for tethering capabilities because of the open ended female port. The Nikon D800 is USB 3.0 compatible with this interface, as well as the Leaf Credo 40 backed medium format camera we also use in the studio. I also own a Nikon D7000 I have used to tether with the extension (mini-USB Pearstone extension cord, and the Male Type B USB extension cord for the Leaf Credo back), and it worked fine in Lightroom and in CaptureOne. I use my portable harddrive cord to connect the Pearstone 3.0 cord to the D800, and it works fine. Some things I think people underestimate about cables are their storage needs. They need to be wrapped up in a non destructive manner so the pins don’t become dislodged from the connectors over time. I feel as though if I take care of this cord it will take care of me. I think it’s a must for anyone planning to do tethering.

I only have two USB 3.0 terminals on my desktop and they are both on the rear, very difficult to reach. This was a solution and doesn’t slow down the SanDick Extreme 3.0 flash disk.

I needed a short USB extension to get from my hub back to my computer. Three feet was just the right length. It just quietly does whatever I ask of it, from charging an iPod to connecting to my card reader.

This is the perfect lenght to extend my USB 3 four port hub to convenient location on my desk. It’s a cable, does the job and seems to have no effect on performace.

This cord replaces a USB 2.0 cable. I use this permanentely attched to the back of my tower for easy access. The USB in the front of the tower are difficult to locate and this is always handy for thumb drives or for connecting a large HD to run the monthly image back up.

The cable does what I expected from it. Fast transfer of info without loss.

Wished they sold a shorter cable, but it works fine and I left the cable ties on the coil to avoid tangles.

Needed a long USB cable to be able to position a webcam a good distance from a laptop for a hybrid meeting. This cable did the trick.

Excellent quality at a good price and B&H always ships quickly.

I purchased this Pearstone cable to connect a desktop burner with a short cable to a Mac Pro towers USB 3.0 connection. I have never had a problemwith Pearstone products.

cable works great! If you are worried about losing speed/efficacy through an extension, don’t. It works just fine.

I purchased this for my USB 3.0 hub to extend the distance of it. I plugged the hub into the end and my USB devices were detected fine. From my observation speeds are the same with or without the extension cable. The cable also has a decent width to it and feels sturdy.

This cable extension slowed my data transfer rate to a crawl! I don’t know what the answer is for cable length but this isn’t it.
Celestino Paucek (verified owner) –
It works. ‘Nuff said. After all, it’s a cable

needed short cable to provide access to the rear ports… these cables worked fine and there was no speed loss for the portable hard drives. Cables feel substantial, but the exposed female end gives it a cheap appearance a takes away one star.
