It’s a USB cable. What more do you need it to do. It works great to connect things to a computer. I used mine for external hard drives. I lost my original cables and needed new ones. So far a 3′ cable is plenty but could be too small depending on your desk size and where the drives are at. 6′ covers most any other desk size and is versatile. Anything longer is special case installs and stuff in which case you might be looking at faster data transfer rates. But for general desk HD this works just as I would expect.

I bought this to work with an external drive as I needed a little longer cord than what was provided. The cord is heavy duty and fit perfectly. Problem was the hard drive powered up but couldn’t get it to work with this cable.
