These cables have ferrite beads around either end. I assume that it helps reduce EMI and noise in the cable, but it makes it so that the cable will not retract into the device that I am installing (Extron Cable Cubby 500). These cables should be great for most purposes, but the ferrite beads do get in the way a bit.

I ordered the 15 foot version and could not be happier. Using to connect an iPhone ( with vga adaptor) to the VGA input on an older boat television. Moderate gauge wire for audio and video….I know it is an old school wired connection…but hey works well. Cables say quality the minute you touch them. BTW… I have 40 years of electrical engineering experience. Just buy it.
