Watched video and followed the good directions provided. No issues. I understand charcoal should be changed out about every five years.

I have had my Pelican PC 600 for about 8 years and just now having replace my filter in it! I also had a water tester come out to test my water and he told me I had the best water that he has tested in my area, and he said he had tested about 150 houses in my area! So I am confident I have made the right choice in my purchase!

I was to skeptical replacing the resin media filter however, it wasn’t that bad. You can taste the difference on water. I replaced the resin media after 6 years.

I tried to get carbon media for my filter after 5 years. It’s nice to have a online representative quickly respond and got it ordered. However, I couldn’t find it on the website for products and replacement procedures. Suggest to add it online.

I have owned the whole house combo water softener system since 2012. I ordered the replacement media for the carbon tank and replaced it without an issue. The water is amazing right out of the tap!

It turns out to be fairly easy to replace the old with new. The only hard part was hauling the full tank up the stairs to empty it outside. Once that was done, the rest was easy with the included instructions.

Instructions were clear and easy to follow. Big challenge was removing the head fitting! It was really tight. Once that was removed all the rest was easy. Glad I only have to replace media every 5 years.

Very simple to change the the media. Only problem that I had is the instructions say to “Hand Tighten” the access head when done. It has to be more than hand tightened. I used a strap wrench to snug it down until the water leaked stopped. (Maybe I’m not as strong as used-to-be)

I installed the Pelican whole house water sediment filter, carbon filter and softener 10 years ago and am so very well pleased. I replaced the 1st carbon media 5 years ago and again about the first of March 2020. Very easy to replace the media if the instructions are followed closely. The carbon filter is heavy when full of water so can be difficult to handle.

I’ve used a Pelican whole house charcoal filter for over six years. It removes the chlorine taste and smell from my water. I replaced the media recently because of it’s age. It was still working. I had to bypass the filter for a few days while I was replacing the media. My house smelled like a swimming pool, so I know my Pelican filter works. The replacement process is easy, just follow the instructions and you will have no problems. The only con is a slight loss in water pressure, but well worth it.
