The Carbon Replacement Media for PC600 Whole House Drinking Water Filter is carbon media for your Pelican Water PC600 filter system. The expired media is environmentally friendly. This process does not require any tools or a plumber. Disconnect the tank from the bypass valve and unscrew the distributor head from the tank by hand, then dump out the expired media. Pour the new replacement media in the tank, follow the start up backwashing and media soak instructions and you’re ready to go.

This is my 2nd replacement of the flouride media which must occur about every 3 years. This is a VERY tall canister and you may need a second person to help. I’m older and cannot do it myself. I can change out the chlorine filter, with effort, by myself.

We had postponed our exchange of this filter medium on our water system at the 5 year mark because we had been told a plumber needed to do it, and with Covid-19 ours the guy who put in the system had retired and we didn’t trust someone new coming in. Salesman told us about YouTube video, and we decided to put on BigBoyPants and try. I had forgotten about restrictions of no laundry/bathtub/dishwasher (high flow usage) for 72 hours while the media settles in tank, but we pulled paper plates, showered and let laundry pile up and got replacement done. Pelican ships everything you need (except muscles). WARNING: box arrives damaged (ours was torn, crushed and reaped several times) but product is packaged well enough the bag of media is not damaged.
