Very good system, we installed it 5 yearsAgo and have not buy a single bottle of drinking water again, The water we get from this system tastes better than most bottle water we know.We recommend the (Pelican water filters.

Three days ago I replaced the media in my whole house filter. I was lucky I still had the system installation instructions because the instructions I received with the media started at step 4. I did accomplish the task and we are now good for another 5 years.

The instructions were good, but the video was best and was not mentioned in the instructions. Had a problem with some hard crusty buish stuff that came out of the tank with the old media. Nobody at Pelican understood what it was but it didn’t need to be replaced. Instructions did not describe this possibility. The rest of the media replacement went well.

Changing the media was very simple. One would be well advised to have a two wheel mover to transport the cylinder outside to empty the water and old media. Following the provided instructions and using all provided equipment made the change a snap.

Prompt response to questions and quick delivery of replacement media. You tube instructions very helpful as I am retired and did the exchange myself. Not as hard as I thought it would be to replace.

Bought and replaced the granular carbon in our tank. Since it has to soak for 48 hours, our system was on bypass for 2 days. Water tasted terrible for those two days. We have had the system for 5 years and had gotten so used to the lack of chlorine taste. Tank is back in place, as is our good tasting water.

Replacing the media was a little more involved than I anticipated, but Pelican provides simple, straightforward instructions and great accessories to get the job done. You basically bypass/unhook the filter, dump out the old media (in my garden compost), rinse the tank, pour in the new media, fill it with water, let it soak, flush out the carbon dust, hook it up and enjoy great filtered water in the whole house. You just need to plan on a couple days without using your filter because of the time to let the media soak. We still got a little “grayish” water when I first hooked it back up to the house system, but this was not a problem at all. The overall process went pretty smooth and easy to do. I am glad to have my Pelican PC-600 just like new again!

I purchased replacement media for my PC 600 filter recently and was pleased with how simple it was to replace the old media with the new. The instructions were pretty thorough and easy to understand. The only issue is that it is a little more expensive than I’d like. But, you only need it once every five years, so if you spread that cost out over the life of the media, it’s not too bad.
