I am on Well Water and have major scale build-up. This is a great filter that was simple to install and does what is intended; to reduce scale.THIS FILTER DOES NOT REDUCE WATER HARDNESS. This is for reducing/eliminating scale and it does that very well.I did add a post-filter to absorb the carbon pellets and the NutraSoft filter pellets. The model I am using for the post-filter is GE Model GXWH40L. This eliminates any of the pellets from going into faucets, shower heads, and toilet tanks.See pictures for my installation and placement of filters.

I have had the whole home filtration system and softener for about a month, and it works well. The water instantly tasted better which I’m thankful for as I drink a lot of water and prefer to just get it from the tap instead of plastic bottles. I’ve noticed a reduction in the hard water spots, and I think the soap lathers slightly better than without the system. I was never a fan of salt softeners due to the “slimy” feeling you get, but we had city water in our previous home that was treated by the city and I’d get better lather without the salt water feeling, but it is an improvement over our straight hard water. Installation took me about 3 hours, including removal of the old system. I have a pretty tight utility closet so had to be a little creative, but fairly simple, and I did purchase the additional installation kit.Early on I’m very happy with the purchase, I’m interested to see how long the sediment filter lasts in the 6-9 month range, and in 5 years have to change the carbon filter in the filter tank, but if it all works like it does now, well worth it to me.

One of the most important reason I went with Pelican was…. No Salt…. Very easy installation, you dont have to have a plumber to install, a DIY JOB. The quality of my water improvement is unbearable. Taste, is like drinking from a spring, so refreshing. My wife was a bit skeptic if there would be a noticeable difference. Not anymore, she is extremely pleased. I ordered directly from pelican customer service, the gentleman answered the questions I had and took my order over the phone. Very Friendly I choose thePSE2000 whole house filter and softener system (4-6 bathrooms). I have 2 teenagers, 3 bathrooms, tons of laundry, and dirty dishes that seem to use water all at the same time.My previous system softened water with little to no filtration. I really don’t like the slimy feeling you get in the shower and I detested buying 240 pounds of salt every 6 months.The Pros: I never have to buy salt, better H2O psi, better filtration, better tasting water right out of the sink, no slimy feeling in the shower, no salt deposits or impact on environment from back flushing, and system is expandable if I ever need to.The Cons: There is some prep needed for the carbon tank (48 hour soak and flush). It is really not a problem but I’m impatient, I wanted to install and use immediately. It’s like buying a sportscar and being told you have to leave it in the driveway for 2 days before you can take her for a spin. LolI recommend getting the install kit, it made setting up so much simpler and it gives you some freedom to move tanks around to get location just right. I installed this myself.

We just recently had are PSE2000 system installed and we can already tell a difference. Are area is well know for its water hardness and obvious chlorine taste and smell. Nevertheless in just a few days after installing the system we can tell a difference. The chlorine tast and smell has been eliminated as far as we can tell. And as far as the water hardness goes I have very dry and itchy skin. There is a noticeable difference, my skin does seem softer, and the itchy skin has been reduced.

I have had this premium hole house filter – softener that I installed myself for about 2 weeks, The water is suitable for drinking and tastes like real bottle water. My wife complemented on how she enjoys the shower now much better than when we had the salt water softener. I really like the fact that I don”t have to do any maintenance or add salt on a monthly basis. Also no more wasted water with back flushing or regeneration of the salt softener. I installed the system myself and it was fairly easy in hind sight I should have ordered the install kit but fitting pvc wasn’t that bad. As far as the system I noticed rather quickly the water does not have any chlorine odor. As far as the nature soft system before I ordered I called Pelican and asked what to expect the water is more like having spring water at every tap. So far we’re happy with the system.
