We hired plumbers to install this unit. They did a great job, looks good and no leaks. They did tell me that some filter/softener systems makes your skin feel kind of slimy but we have not had that with this Pelican. Water is great feeling and I love the flavor of my water from the tap.

We can now drink our water from the sink! We did a blind taste test with Pelican water and “CHILL” water from the grocery store dispenser. Pelican was better! That is huge for So. Cal Colorado river salt water!

I first bought a PSE2000 system in 2010 and after 9 years of good continuous flow, I noticed my water was getting a lot harder with more calcium deposit all over my faucets, shower, etc… (hard water in AZ) Pelican did recommend to replace the carbon media after 5 years, but after considering all the options, I decided to buy a new system to replace both tanks to start all over again. Just replaced the two tanks this morning without having to change the current plumbing and I can tell that the water is a lot softer than before. So far so good.

We had to hire a plumber for installation, so added $300 to the cost. We needed extra plumbing connections and spare parts for installation- which costed another $450. After all these costs, I think it’s all worth it. There is a significant enhancement in water taste. I am looking forward to not having scaling issues in our appliances and faucets.

First of all, the filter side of this item works very well. It does take out the chlorine from the water purification process. HOWEVER, This is not actually a water softener. The water hardness is still there, Pelican claims that the media coats the Calcium and Magnesium, and does not remove it.

We purchased this system after much research and got it installed around a month ago. We wanted to filter the house and have soft water but we didn’t want the extra salt causing slim and not being healthy for our plants and fish.The only problem we ran into was installing. It was a bit more challenging than just buying the install kit. We actually sent the kit back and just had a plumber install with all brass fittings. As far as the water quality, it is unbelievable! Our city water is so heavily treated that we were having difficulty drinking it with all the earthy, metallic taste. We now have no taste to our water. We have Marsupials that we always had to use bottled water on, no more! We can just use tap water. I can now top off my Koi ponds with the hose and no worries with the Chlorine and Chloramines. Our skin feels softer and hair is more manageable. WE can not say enough about how much this system has improved the quality of our household water!

Arrived a couple of weeks ago, Just finished install. Not sure how much value the install kit was. It certainly could have used 2 hose bibs. With one hose bib you need to move the tanks near a door (if you are doing an interior install) for the flushings. Sediment filter arrived without filter element, which was promptly shipped at no cost.

It seems to work just fine. The tests I did were down to about 7-10. I never tested before with the salt water conditioner. But I can taste the difference and taking showers. Although the suds are not the same a the salt type, it does leave you feeling cleen.

I purchased the PSE2000 filter and softener combo 3 weeks ago and my family has been enjoying the benefits of filtered water through out our house. Clothes come out of the wash feeling softer and our hair and skin is softer from shower. I went with the larger filter system for my house because I didn’t want to have any issues with water pressure / flow. The PSE2000 works great for my 3 bathroom house. No drop in pressure with dishwasher, washing machine, and 2 showers running at the same time. The presoak setup was easy to follow and pro kit increases the aesthetics of the install. My only regret is waiting this long to have clean water through out our house.
