This Pentek 158117 1/4 in. #10 Slim Line clear filter housing is suitable for low-flow applications that have space restrictions. The sump is made of clear styrene-acrylonitrile (SAN) for on-site viewing of flow and cartridge condition, and the cap is made of reinforced blue polypropylene for strength and resistance to chemicals. The cap has 1/4 in. female National Pipe Thread Taper (NPT) threaded input and output connections and a nitrile butadiene rubber (Buna-N) O-ring to ensure a watertight seal. The housing can be used with a 10 in. x 2-1/2 in. sediment or carbon filter cartridge (sold separately). It has an initial pressure drop of 2 psi at a flow rate of 3 GPM, a maximum operating pressure of 125 psi, and a maximum operating temperature of 125°F (51.7°C). This filter housing is for use in various applications, including residential drinking water filtration, food service, and humidifying systems, among others.

This filter will accept any 9 3/4 inch long filter element, like a GE FXUVC or American Plumber WLC-R.You have to wrench down the lid very hard to get the assembly to seal. It does not come with a bracket, but I was able to adapt my old GE bracket. The little red bleed button is of no value, but does no harm. The most attractive attribute of this filter housing is the low price.

Should come with instructions, doesn’t. Should at minimum state which size filters fit. Bracket is separate purchase, but was OK. Liked the clear housing. Doesn’t come with 1/4 inch MPT fittings either.
