This Pentek 158642 3/8 #10 3G Slim Line blue filter housing with integrated mounting bracket is suitable for low flow rate applications that have space restrictions. The sump and cap are made of reinforced polypropylene for strength and resistance to chemicals. The cap has 3/8 in. female National Pipe Thread Taper (NPT) threaded input and output connections and a nitrile butadiene rubber (Buna-N) O-ring to ensure a watertight seal. A pressure relief button on the inlet side of the cap releases pressure in the housing for changing filter cartridges. The housing can be used with a 10 in. x 2-1/2 in. sediment or carbon filter cartridge (sold separately). It has an initial pressure drop of 2 psi at a flow rate of 5 GPM, a maximum operating pressure of 125 psi, and a maximum operating temperature of 125°F (51.7°C). This filter housing meets National Sanitation Foundation/American National Standards Institute (NSF/ANSI) standard 42 for quality assurance, and is for use in various applications, including residential drinking water filtration, food service, and humidifying systems, among others.

This is a solid, inexpensive filter housing that’s ideal for an undersink application. I plumbed it using two brass 3/8 x 1/4 compression fittings, and used braided stainless compression lines instead of the cheap plastic tubing with push-to-connect fittings. I’ve had plastic tubing leak, brass compression fittings are much sturdier. The integral mounting bracket is very sturdy, and this housing will hold any standard 10″ filter, there’s no need to buy expensive proprietary filters.

Hey, I’ve been paying for Culligan water jugs for 5 years now, like an fool. No longer. For what I pay a month to them I got this filter housing and 1 year worth of filters. Add to it a couple small brass fittings, an extra water supply line from the plumbing isle, and my tap water now tastes like bottled water.

Replaced an older filter housing that leaked. The new unit was easy to install under the sink with the existing water lines. Have it now for 3 weeks and no leaks.
