Description
This Pentek DGD-2501 spun polypropylene filter cartridge reduces sand, silt, scale, and rust particles in residential, commercial, and municipal drinking water. It has 2 separate gradient layers for higher particle reduction efficiency and dirt-loading capacity than standard spun or string-wound cartridges. The nominal filtration rating of the pre-filter layer is 25 microns, and the rating of the post-filter layer is 1 micron. The filter is made of spun polypropylene fibers for resistance to chemicals and bacteria. It has an initial pressure drop of less than 1 psi at a flow rate of 10 GPM, and operates over a temperature range of 40 to 145°F (4.4 to 62.8°C). This spun polypropylene filter cartridge meets National Sanitation Foundation/American National Standards Institute (NSF/ANSI) standard 42 for quality assurance, and is used for treatment of residential, commercial, and municipal drinking water.

Does what it’s supposed to. Although, it does begin to leak brown water once it gets time to replace. Need to pay attention to water flow rate to know when to change before getting brown water. We have very dirty water and use a lot of water due to having 6 children. We need to replace this at least once a month. And it’s very coated with brown muck each time. But, our water is very clean when this filter is changed as necessary. Home Depot had the best price with free shipping.
