Description
This Pentek EPM-20BB carbon block filter cartridge reduces fine sediment and chlorine taste and odor in residential and commercial drinking water. It has a nominal (85%) filtration rating of 10 microns. The filter will reduce free available chlorine (FAC) at 2 PPM by at least 90% in up to 30,000 Gal. at a flow rate of 4 GPM. This cartridge is made of bonded powdered activated carbon (PAC) filter media wrapped in polyolefin with polyethylene outer netting. The nitrile butadiene rubber (Buna-N) gaskets seal the cartridge against the housing (sold separately). The cartridge has an initial pressure drop of 4 psi at a flow rate of 4 GPM, and operates over a temperature range of 40° to 180°F (4.4° to 82.2°C). This carbon block filter cartridge meets National Sanitation Foundation/American National Standards Institute (NSF/ANSI) standard 42 for quality assurance, and is used for purification of residential and commercial drinking water.

I was getting a bit of “off” taste with the coconut stuff and replaced it with this. One “tell-tale” with those cheapies was the sealing washers would fall off the filter. Maybe that was the reason leakage? Anyway, these work great. Fit “big blue” perfect, washers stay put and the water tastes great.
