Description
This Pentek 150233 20-BB 1 in. #20 Big Blue filter housing with pressure relief is suitable for high-flow and heavy sediment applications. The opaque blue sump is made of reinforced polypropylene for strength and resistance to chemicals, and the black cap is made of high-flow polypropylene (HFPP) for stiffness. The black cap has 1” female National Pipe Thread Taper (NPT) threaded input and output connections and a nitrile butadiene rubber (Buna-N) O-ring to ensure a watertight seal. A pressure relief button on the inlet side of the cap releases pressure in the housing for changing filter cartridges. The housing can be used with a 20 in. x 4-1/2 in. filter cartridge. It has an initial pressure drop of 1 psi at a flow rate of 15 GPM, a maximum operating pressure of 90 psi, and a maximum operating temperature of 100°F (37.8°C). This filter housing meets National Sanitation Foundation/American National Standards Institute (NSF/ANSI) standard 42 for quality assurance, and is for use in various high-flow applications, including residential drinking water filtration, food service, and irrigation, among others.

Just had a plumber install it last week. I have a sediment filter but wanted this additional filter to take out minerals depositing in toilets with a new well. So far looks fine and I might have given it 5 stars except the plumber said he likes units with metal, not plastic, coupling joints. He also said it should have come with a wrench and needed my strap wrench to tighten it. The HD price was good and I expect no problems from it.

I dont give out a lot of five star reviews but i will for this one. I had tried several other filters and all of them leaked at either the housing seal or the connections. This one was no problem to seal and went in with zero issues. You will need to buy a mounting bracket if you wish to mount it on the wall.

When going for a whole house water filter I think this is the one , With a large inlet and outlet you will get a high water flow, I am definitely recommended this product. The only downside is that the mounting bracket kit did not comes with it, you have to purchase it separate and it costed about $ 32.00.

Just what i needed. Pressure release valves didn’t quite work at first, a few pushes and it sealed. make sure to use Teflon tape on threads
