The BDR-XD07UHD 6x Portable USB 3.0 Blu-ray Burner from Pioneer can read and write a variety of disc media including CDs, DVDs, and Blu-rays. Additionally, it supports M-DISC, which offers durable, long-term storage for archiving. Users who have a lot of data to store will also be able to use Blu-ray Triple Layer and Quadruple Layer discs. It has a max speed of 6x on Blu-ray media (4x on Ultra HD Blu-ray) and features a slim, lightweight design.

I was looking to replace A failing DVD burner. I could’ve opted to get the same one but I chose a more compact version with this Pioneer. Don’t let the compact size fool you. This little guy really does the trick. So far for me, It’s done everything that I could throw at it. Whether it’s just playback of a blu-ray or DVD or copying and burning. Works well with my third-party software. The only con that I have with it is the way you have to load and unload the discs. It’s a kind of a top loader. You have to lift the cover and actually place the DVD and snap the center of the disc onto that middle holder part. Then you have to snap it out the same way. It’s almost inevitable to not get fingerprints on the disc while trying to do this. I would’ve rather had the sliding drawer come out like I did in my previous DVD burner. That’s why 4 stars. I knew what I was getting though when I purchased it, so I share some of the blame. The good reviews is what lead me to purchase and so far it does what it supposed to do !

Awesome service from B&H, but that’s no surprise. Great drive so far. Fast and precise, I haven’t burnt a coaster yet. Only tested with CDs and DVDs at this point.

So for the past four months I’ve been searching for a blu ray burner for dual layer discs and since I didn’t know how things worked, I got a DVD burner, then a blu ray burner that doesn’t burn dual layer, and after a Verbatim burner that was meant for the discs, but it couldn’t even read discs, but after so long I got this one and it works like a charm, I love it.

Surprised they ship a white cable with a black unit – for this price I expect them to match. The led light is way too bright to watch movies in the dark. Black tape to the rescue. 🙂 Also, the free dvd player program is NOT the current release.

It reads ALL the discs. I have many fewer problems with this drive than my other one, which is an LG. But it’s not quiet.

Haven’t used the item extensively, but I’ve been able to read 4K UHD Blu Rays just fine, as well as regular Blu Rays and DVDs. Love the compact form factor. Satisfied.
