Take calls and listen to music while wirelessly connected to your computer, Bluetooth-enabled desk phone, mobile phone, or tablet with the Voyager Focus UC Bluetooth Headset from Plantronics. With up to 12 hours of talk time and a roaming range up to 98′, the Voyager Focus boasts a DSP (digital sound processing)-enabled triple-mic boom and active noise cancellation, allowing you to concentrate on your calls and music.
The Voyager Focus headset features voice alerts that announce caller ID, connection status, and talk time, while a dynamic mute alert warns you if you try to talk while the headset is muted. With built-in smart sensors, the headset can detect when you take it off and automatically mute your call or pause your music. Optimized for use with Microsoft unified communications apps, this version of the Voyager Focus includes a magnetic charging stand and a USB Type-A Bluetooth adapter with a mute status indicator.

As a small company, we purchased two of these headsets to try them out. After 1 day of use, we purchased 8 more. Three days later, we purchased 11 more. Why? Because they are awesome. When working in a shared environment, driving while talking, or in a quiet places, these headsets are a leap ahead of the competition. Trust me, I’ve tried them all! As we hire new employees, these headsets will be a part of the on-boarding package.

I love this product, the only wish I have to add is a “folding” docking-charging station to fit the zipped bag.

The first unit was non-functional and had to be sent back. I was disappointed to learn that both B&H Photo and Plantronics charged me for return shipping. I’ll be less likely to buy from either in the future. The second unit was functional. It works well on Android and Linux. But the volume is very loud and hurts my ears. The sidetone (where it echos your voice back to you when you speak) is really loud and cannot be disabled. I called support and they said they don’t expect it to be possible to disable the sidetone or reduce the volume any further. After a month of trying to learn to speak softer, I’m tired of the headaches and ear aches; I’m buying a different headset. This unit can no longer be returned, so I’m stuck with an expensive paper weight.

As an entreprenuer who works from home, I am constantly on the phone or Skype. I used to use the over-ear Voyager and loved it, but unfortunately, so did my dogs and replacing that headset 3X a month got pretty spendy. So I started looking for over-ear headsets. I’ve tried at least 3 other expensive headsets with frusterating results. This headset moves seemlessly between the two – even on my Mac. The noise canceling is a life-saver, with two dogs and a house under construction next door, I’ve put this to the test at been thrilled with the results. This headset is worth it’s weight in gold. I’m a Plantronics fan for life.

Overall, I found the Voyager Focus UC to perform above expectations. The only negative is the ear padding. Plain and simple, it could benefit from a redesign. It’s just not soft enough to be worn for extended periods of time. I have a fairly large head and constantly find myself having to take off the headset after a few calls to deal with the pain I feel while wearing it for a long period of time.

The help link for how to do this DOES NOT line up with my headset so I do not feel confident that they are familiar with my head set. So how can they promote quality?

This is great for my open office environment and also for traveling, especially air travel. The active noise cancelation is great and really puts you in the zone. Focus is definitely the key word. Love this headset.

I’ve never been a fan of a headset, but I went all out and bought this pair. All I can say is wow I love these! I can walk around office and talk on phone with no issues! Setup took less than 5 minutes as well.

I bought these a while after team moved into an open collaboration space. There is a ton of cross talk and other background noise that can get really distracting. Before buying this headset, I had been using an old Bose QC15 ANC headset to block out background noise, but they didn’t help with Skype for business, which we use for all communication. The noise canceling on the Voyager Focus doesn’t come close to being as effective as the old Bose headphones. It’s noticeable, but does not block out even moderate talking. I have to resort to listening to low volume music all day to block out distractions. Beyond the ANC, the headset is really nice. It just doesn’t live up to the advertising hype.

I purchased this headset for my fiance as a gift about a year ago because I use these for work and I loved them initially, however they started breaking on me about 6 months in. They started breaking on him starting about the same time frame. They have since broken on him 3 or 4 times. We have tried to superglue them or tape them back together and they keep breaking further. The plastic on the headset the holds the earpiece around the head snaps in half and is constantly unbuckling. Now I have two headphones that I paid a lot of money for that need to be thrown away.

Been using this headset for a month now. People can hear my voice clearly even with background noise behind. I work in a bullpen like environment where partitions are low and voices carry. Love the ANC feature so i can focus. Only concerning is MS Lync, I have to remember not audio coming from my phone, if I do I will not hear anything. I am on calls a good 4+ a day and the batter life is good. I am glad my search is over. I have bought many bluetooth headsets this is the first I am truly satisfied.

I bought this headset about 8 months ago during covid. Working from hom with all the background noise made it difficult. After getting the headset i have not had any complains from anybody regarding background noise.

I have been using the headset for a few weeks now and I find the headset excellent to use. The setup was extremely simple, just plug in the USB Bluetooth and the computer did the rest. Only gripe that I have is the voice notification when turning on Mute. It would be nice to mute the microphone without hearing the voice each time, but not a real big deal.

I am using an iPhone and a MacBook. Even though headset states that phone is connect, bluetooth is connected on the phone, and phone detects connection, there is no voice in the headset. That keeps on repeating and reconnection between devices is not a solution. I can use the phone with headset roughly 50% of the time.

Purchased 6 for a call center. All have broken within 2 years. Mics have gone bad, plastic has broken around the headset itself, users reported they were not comfortable. Callers reported not being able to hear very well. Was super noise-cancelling though.

I have tried other brands, but didn’t like the audio quality, so i asked on a forum what to get, and they pointed me at this fantastic headset. When i got it, and tried it, it was better than i expected!

Pros: * automatically warns when you talk while you’re muted * integrates its mute button to the software you’re using * does very well at blocking background noise (it blocked literal jackhammering in my basement) Cons: * pretty expensive * not as comfortable for longterm use (on my head at least) as much cheaper gaming headsets * inconvenient placement of the mute button

Sound quality is great, controls are intuitive and it looks slick. Unfortunately, the range is terrible. If you plan to move between rooms separated by walls, forget about the advertised 30 meter range. It starts cutting off immediately, less than 3 meters. If you want to be able to move around your apartment freely, then buy DECT based headsets and avoid Bluetooth.

My employer provides these headsets since we moved from cubicles to a more open space config more conducive to Agile practices. I was skeptical at first and only expected to use the noise cancelling during work. To my surprise, the sound is exceptional when I listen to music through it. It’s got just the right amount of bass to keep it lively without pounding my head. I love the head strap acting as a switch too. The battery life is phenomenal! I took on on a 24hr trip to oversease and it still had 7hrs left. I can’t imagine going on long trips without it. I prefer this over the Bose.

Faultless but the need to use the little usb Bluetooth adapter. What happens when this tiny device is lost? Surely this can be incorporated into the charging unit?
