Enjoy your tunes and answer calls without wires with the Voyager 8200 UC Bluetooth Headset from Plantronics. Boasting up to 20 hours of talk time, 24 hours of listening time, and up to 98′ of wireless range from supported Bluetooth Class 1 devices, the black over-ear Voyager 8200 headset comes with a compact USB Type-C Bluetooth adapter for connecting to your Mac or Windows PC. An indicator on the adapter lights up when the headset is muted.
Equipped with four internal dual-paired microphones, the boom-less Voyager 8200 features a two-level active noise-cancellation mode that lets you choose how much ambient noise you want to hear. The Voyager’s smart sensors are designed to detect whether you’re wearing the headset, ideal for automatically playing and pausing music or answering calls. A dynamic mute alert warns you when you’re talking while the headset is muted. Certified for Skype for Business and optimized for Microsoft Lync, the Voyager 8200 supports unified communication applications and softphones from Avaya, Cisco, Skype, and others.

I love this headset! It sounds amazing! My voice is picked up like nothing else I’ve used. It doesn’t pick up the noise of my colleagues around me! My problem is the smell! I’m currently on my 2nd pair of these headsets. The vendor replaced my original headset because I complained they smelled like cat urine. When I unpacked my replacement set, they smelled great, but after wearing them for a week, the new set also smelled like cat urine! I’m a clean individual. I shower once or twice a day. It can’t be due to my cleanliness. I sit at a desk all day, in a nice AC environment. I’ve used other vendor head sets for years, and never had this issue. Only the Voyager 8200 UC. I’m at a point where I don’t want to use them because of the smell. My wife won’t let me bring them home because of the smell! I’ve seen other customers who have these also report the same thing in the Plantronics reviews. There has to be something that Plantronics can do to not have this issue? Maybe they should look at what Jabra is using for their high end head sets?

I work in an office, where I’m often on phone calls for 4-6 hours per day. I used to use a boom mic wireless headset, and decided to try these out. Boy am I glad I did! They provide excellent sound quality, and are able to drown out a good portion of the office ambient noise, helping me to stay focused on my tasks. I support and install Skype systems for work, so I’m familiar with many of the different headsets available on the market, and while this one is expensive, it is near the top compared to the competition. I love how comfortable these are for prolonged use, along with the battery life. I no longer have to worry about switching headsets in the middle of a call that’s gone on too long. Music sounds very good, with no apparent audio quality degradation over the Bluetooth connection. I’m able to listen to music quieter than I used to with headphones without noise cancellation. All this said, they are going back. Unfortunately I can’t quite justify the high cost at the moment. Once these are more competitive with the other market leaders I’ll definitely be purchasing a pair!

The sound quality is great, the build quality makes me confident it will last a long time, the noise cancelling feature is equally great, but a drawback with this headset is that as soon as the mic is active, it fallbacks on potato audio quality. If there was a way to keep the audio quality high when the mic is enabled (and paired using bluetooth on the PS4 or when using the wireless dongle (BT600). Great for work, avoid for gaming.

Feels like I have my head in a vice. I’ve had this unit for 2 or 3 days The weight of the headset also pushes down on the top of my head. These are by far my least comfortable headphones. I’m looking forward to not using them as soon as their replacements arrive. For reference, my hat size is 7.

I have this connected to my phone and PC and they are always randomly switching between device. If i first turn them on, they will not recognize my PC until i discover them from the Bluetooth menu. They also randomly put you on mute while on a teams conference call, even when speaking. Please dont use your personal money to buy this headphone.

For years, Plantronics has been know for making great headsets. Crystal clear microphone sound as well as light, comfortable, and good battery life. I’ve had my share of them. When you look at their marketing page for the 8200 UC, this is just another in a long line of quality headsets. But it doesn’t tell the whole story. The Headset: As a headset, this does NOT disappoint. The microphone “beaming” is exactly what you’d expect from a great headset. Standing next to a fan or a weedwacker and the person on the other end can’t even hear it. Haven’t tried them in a busy room though. The Electronics: Being bluetooth enabled means you’re not tethered. The range on these is the best I’ve seen in a bluetooth device. I easily went over 80′ in my house (with 4 walls in between). I’m sure it could go further as I experienced no disconnect. ANC (active noise cancelling). This is my first foray into the realm of active noise cancelling so I have nothing to compare it to. However, I am very impressed with this implementation. The ear pads and construction already lend themselves to a decent amount of passing noise cancelling, but with the 2 levels of ANC, you can customize it to your preference. I tested it in from of a fan and it does eliminate the majority (70% maybe) of the sound from the fan (almost completely the low frequencies). As I’ve read elsewhere though, when turning on the ANC in a relatively quiet environment, there is the sensation of altitude pressure on the ears. The Headphones: I’ll be honest, I had pretty low expectations for these headphones. I’ve got a pair of Yamaha Pro 400 headphones which sound fantastic and didn’t think much else could match them for sound quality in the same price range. Plantronics is known for their headsets after all and is not really in the industry of hi-fi speakers. Well, I was surprised! As headphones, these sound absolutely amazing! As an audio fanatic (but not quite a audiophile), these are my new go-to headphones. They have a pleasantly flat frequency response with a touch of a warm tone. There is solid, well defined bass without being too pronounced (they’re no Beats, which I very much dislike). The mids are strong and clear while the highs are very present, but less bright than some giving them that ever-so-slightly warm tone. Comfort: If this device didn’t stand out already, this just adds to their shine. I’ve worn these for 3 hours at once and there was NO fatigue. The weight is slightly more than my Yamahas (which I’d expect having electronics in them). However, the head and ear padding is amongst the most comfortable I’ve ever worn. Configurability: When connected using the app (Android, iOS, Windows, Mac), you can configure a LOT of settings like call notifications, auto pausing, hearing protection, and MANY more. You can fine tune it to how your process works. The defaults are very good, however.

I use the 8200 daily, at work, commuting and just traveling. The noise-cancellation and voice quality is impressive. I live in Chicago and thus take the local transit system which is horribly loud. When I tell folks on the other side ‘sorry for the background noise’ they say ‘what background noise?!’ Really very impressed. Cannot be challenged in the noise-cancellation game. Bose is better at cancelling outside noise going to ear, but, if you spend your time on phone calls with people you cannot get much better than the 8200. The only “negative” is that when you switch on the noise-cancelling feature on (to stop noise coming in) it can on occasion affect the audio communication but nothing major.

I bought this specificly because of the “USB-C” Feature, thinking that it will connect via USB-C to recherche ect. What was my suprise when I discovered that the (usless) dongle is usb but the Headset itself still use the Higt-tech mirco usb connector…

Given the need to be on tele-video conferences these days, I invested in this. It has been great. Headphone quality is very good and mics work well. No one has trouble hearing me at all. Added benefits: noise cancelling, knows when you are muted so if you try to speak you get a notice on your screen that you’re muted. Also, excellent battery life.

We moved into an open plan office. Beforehand we were in interconnected rooms, so could close doors. The noise in the new office was untenable. We do most of our advice on the phone, and had just been using iPhones. Turns out our clients could hear all the surrounding conversations when we were speaking to them. And it was very difficult for us to concentrate on our conversation when we could hear our neighbour talking. These headphones cut out most of the noise, and the noise cancelling microphone means that not only can clients not hear other conversations, they can’t hear my typing on the computer at the same time! Very comfortable, easy to use. Good value for money.

These headphones are amazing! A song with too much base causes the right earphone to sound distorted. Don’t know if this is just my pair but they’re brand new and i noticed this the first day. If this is just a bad pair then I would definitely recommend these to everyone. You will not be disappointed

My company got this headset for me a couple of years ago so I’m screwed on any warranty. I just want my experience to be known. The headset fits too snugly so that it becomes uncomfortable after about an hour. The worst thing is the mute/unmute. It mutes and unmutes itself with no warning so I don’t know if I’m being heard unless I ask which is awkward in a meeting with a lot of attendees. Pushing the mute button does not always result in a vocal acknowledgment. There is no vocal feedback (I can’t hear myself in the headset. It just sounds totally dead) so I don’t know if it is working. I keep its firmware up to date but I don’t know if these issues are firmware-fixable. It definitely is not worth the huge price.

I’ve used this headset for over a year now and have been very happy with everything from microphone quality, battery life, sound quality, noise cancellation, connectivity and comfort. I am in a noisy call center and use this headset for 10+ hours of continuous use per day. I have to use the MDA200 dongle to integrate with my hard phone and desktop and occasionally (once a week) the headset will lose connection with the dongle in between calls but resetting it (takes 5 seconds) always resolves the issue. Definitely worth the price. I haven’t seen a drop in battery life over the year I’ve had them. I’m also impressed with music quality. I also have a pair of wired Bose noise cancelling headphones and I think that the noise cancellation is on par and the sound quality may even beat out the Bose set.

I purchased this headset to use in the office and found that while voices on calls sounded good to me and my voice sound good to the people on the other end of the call, the noise cancelling in the headset itself while not in a call is barely there. I could clearly hear all of my co workers talking which defeats the purpose of the headphones. I returned them and will continue looking for a suitable headset. If this product was half the current price, I could consider them but at such a high price point, I couldn’t keep them. The overall quality of the headset is very nice and I like the carry bag that comes with the headset.

I’ve been using this headset for a month now and I absolutely love it. It’s wireless, stylish, easy to use, and high tech. Audio quality for music is absolutely fantastic. Some of the best sound quality I’ve heard in headphones to date. The amount of bass that transfers through surprised me. It’s not distorted and there’s no cheesy BASS BOOST feature / equalizer enabled but rather you get full rich sound, even in the lows. I love it. Call quality is great. People on the other end tend to only hear me, even if I’m in a noisy office. Noise cancelling works as expected (great for flights). Hooking up to multiple devices is a little quirky at times, but I blame bluetooth’s protocols more than I blame this specific headset. Earcups are soft and comfortable to wear for hours on end. Battery life is solid. Compact and good to travel with. It connects to PC + phone very fast after turning on. The PLT desktop and phone apps work well. The only minor issue I’ve found is that there’s a little bit of creaking / squeaking from plastic components shifting if I move my head around when there’s no music playing but that’s not a big deal by any means. My favorite headphones I’ve had by far.
