Enjoy your tunes and answer calls without wires with the Voyager 8200 UC Bluetooth Headset from Plantronics. Boasting up to 20 hours of talk time, 24 hours of listening time, and up to 98′ of wireless range from supported Bluetooth Class 1 devices, the black over-ear Voyager 8200 headset comes with a compact USB Type-C Bluetooth adapter for connecting to your Mac or Windows PC. An indicator on the adapter lights up when the headset is muted.
Equipped with four internal dual-paired microphones, the boom-less Voyager 8200 features a two-level active noise-cancellation mode that lets you choose how much ambient noise you want to hear. I bought these a few weeks ago and used them while traveling for business. They were a litte too bulky for my taste and were a bit stiff to adjust. My biggest frustration was my bluetooth audio would not sync with video. I ended up using the cable for the duration of my trip. I never did use them for two-way calling but my co-worker says they’re great. I would also rather have a hard case for safe keeping while in my laptop bag.

LOVE, LOVE these headphones; they far surpass any others I have tried or owned. I like them better than Bose, Beats or Jabra. They are comfortable with excellent sound, microphone and switching capability from computer to phone. I would highly recomend them

I bought this headset last week through my work. I was really excited to try them as I had high expectations. The headphones really look great, fit nicely, seem of good quality. The sound is great (although I need to test more the reliability during calls). Contrary to how a few people wrote, fortunately, no bad smell. However, I really needed the active noise cancelling. It’s terrible, like not even existent. I am incredibly disappointed. I currently have the headphones on with ANC at max and I can still hear the air system and the people talking 30 feet from me as I wouldn’t be wearing anything. Previously had the Sony WH-1000XM2 and I wouldn’t hear a thing. Talking about a step back is a euphemism. I am actually wondering, what do you need ANC for in an office if you cannot filter out other people’s voices. Useless. As other comments say, there is basically no difference between the two ANC levels, only a very narrow frequency range is filtered out, and voices around you are made clearer by that filtering. I really wish I’d’ve read the reviews more carefully. Seeing that there are the exact same complaints since two years, I’d exclude there will be improvements about this in the near future. You may also notice that all 4- 5-star reviews never mention ANC, or if they do, the author either doesn’t care much about it, or doesn’t have a good comparison. My advice is, if you don’t care about the ANC, go for this product. But if you do care about the ANC, choose something else.

Great audio quality, but honestly…the ANC is really sub-par. Anyone who tries to say that they are nearly as good as the top-o’-the-line ANC headphones…it is simply not so. I would have hoped that some updates would have addressed this, but not so. Frankly, the ANC also turns on and off and sometimes will not really turn on at all (via the switch). Also, as a slightly smaller female – these get a wee bit heavy on long trips. Don’t expect these to be as light as the Bose 35’s or Sony’s wh1000xm’s (any of the three versions). I will say, in contract to all of the items I am critical above….The microphone quality is much better than anything else out there in the ANC arena. I’ve been on conference calls in the middle of a busy airport where others have hardly noticed. Hope this helps.

The feature set on this headset is phenomenal. You never wonder if you are muted, connected, battery levels, etc because the device talks to you! I really like the pause sound feature when you lift up an earpiece because your significant other is talking to you while you have the headset on. Put the earcup back down and the sound resumes automagically.

Love this product. I currently own a Bose and Sony noise cancelling headset and the Plantations in my opinion outperforms the other at this price point. Just my opinion. Bose and Sony make excellent products and I am very happy with them as well. The Voyager is comfortable, performs excellent noise canceling, blocks background noise during a phone call, and charges pretty quickly. B& H provided them at a competitive prices, and for me that was an easy purchase. Fast shipping, hassle free experience.

I don’t normally use on-ear headphones but these made me take another look. The sound quality was great once I figured out which connection to use (see photo). Initially, I let the system choose the hands free connection. I found the connection had some noise in the audio. However, when I changed to the stereo setting–OH MY! The sound quality was awesome. I am using a HP Omen 17 in. gaming laptop. I use the built-in bluetooth rather than the dongle that came with the headphones. Connected and stays connected every time. In addition to gaming, I use this laptop to create video tutorials and these headphones will be my go to’s for that task. The microphone had good quality and sensitivity. The build on these headphones was very good. I was concerned about the padding on the head band on opening the box. However, due to the lightness of these headphones it wasn’t an issue. These headphones have changed my mind in on ear headphones.

Just got the 4220. Very good sound transmitting and receiving. The stated range is a joke. The headphones start dropping voice within about 15 feet. Completely looses connection walking down the stairs in my house. Even directly beneath my home office, the sound cuts out.

Ive been using these for almost 3 years connected to a windows laptop in the office. Battery life is great, audio quality is great for both listening to music and conference calls. The microphone for calls sounds great and I love being able to mute these independently from the mute in my conference call software. This means if I’m on a call listening and trying to make a cup of tea at the same time away from my desk, I can leave the conf call software on and just mute the headset while int he kitchen. This means that if you get a question you weren’t expecting you can come off mute without being at your computer: very handy! The materials and the battery has stood up to daily use for 3 years. you can use these plugged into power and on battery. You can also plug in a 3.5mm jack should you want to not use wireless.

The company I work for purchased the 4220 UC – USB A for me to work from home. The sound is good and picks up your voice well while blocking unwanted noise. It is comfortable enough for long phone calls, but I can’t wear them all day without hurting my ears. The worst issue is it constantly disconnects from my phone between calls. I will go to pick up a call using the headset, it won’t answer. By the time the call goes to voicemail, the headset will say “Phone 1 disconnected”. It is connected to a Samsung S10.

I have had these for a couple of years. So comfortable, so clear, and so reliable. They work in airports, on the plane, and after hours catching up on TV. Highly recommended.

I travel extensively for work and spend most of my time on the phone. Frequently, I’m in locations that are less than ideal with a fair amount of background noise. This headset has been fantastic. Not only can I easily hear what’s being said on my call, I can speak without being concerned that the surrounding noice will be an issue. There are a number of headsets that are great for listening, but fail when it comes to having a microphone that allows for professional level communication.

This product moved me into the 21 century. I can connect to my cell phone and my laptop. Switching from radio to cell phone calls and skype calls with no effort. Recently my company hired a very loud talker and I needed to cancel out the background noise. Clear audio from the microphone improves communication. Easy set up.

Bought 8200 six months ago. Love them. Every aspect of those headphones is excellent. They are very comfortable, sound quality is exceptional brilliant high tones, very pleasant mids and nice bass. One aspect of headphones that could be better is the microphone quality. It is not bad, it is just that compared to the microphone quality with other not bomless headphones it is a bit dull and muddy.

Although I know that Poly has acknowledged that this headset has Bluetooth issues, it still needs to be said the specifics of what is wrong. But first, I will start with the Pros. Pros: – Great audio quality. I am no audiophile, I just appreciate “feeling” my music and these do a good job at that. -Noise cancelling isn’t perfect, but it takes the drone of a car on the highway and an airplane drone at cruising elevation. Voices are greatly muted, but I don’t always need it to block out noise. Being that it is an over ear it inherently will block sounds if you have music playing. – I LOVE the physical feedback buttons. I tried some competitor headphones but they all used touch sensors and that approach is VERY difficult to be precise with. I can’t emphasize how important the physical buttons is to me and I feel like this headset pulled it off very well. – I have a large noggin (adjustable hats I have to adjust to the last 1 or two notches to have a comfortable fit) and I can wear these headphones for hours without causing headaches. (this does lead to one of the cons, but not a deal breaker) – The software is very easy to work with and I was able to set things up the way I want. – It really does do HD voice which in the big scheme of things, isn’t too important, but I like to make sure my voice is as clear as possible. – I only use it with Microsoft Teams and my iPhone, works flawlessly with both (with one caveat in the cons). Cons: – The biggest con is what I mentioned in the beginning. the Bluetooth quality is severely lacking. I have been working from home since the shutdowns began and that is what drove me to purchase this headset (wanted to step away from the PC and still have control over mute/end call, etc.). Specs for these headphones state that they are capable of doing 30m(!) of distance with a class 1 capable device. I am using it with my Dell 7550 which is no slouch when it comes to PC’s. But yet the most I can get with this headset is 5-10m (line of sight included, no obstructions) which means I have to stay close to the PC to remain involved in a meeting. I am also using the BT600 adapter but there is no specs on what type of power class this transmits at. But I have attempted to use the headset without the BT600 with exactly the same results, but doing this I lost the ability to control Teams. I believe that even Class 2 devices can transmit further then this can. – Battery life, I know more features = less battery life, but I wish I could get through an entire work week without having to recharge. If I could choose, I would say 30 hours battery life with HD voice and media streaming enabled would be ideal. But, the pros definitely outweigh this con. – If you tilt your head forward too much (ie, look at your feet) the headphones have a tendency to slip off your head. Once again, pros outweigh this con, I have gotten use to it and it isn’t too much of a bother. – I used the Backbeat Pro 2 SE prior to this and it was able to interface with Media Monkey without any issues. Despite this model being almost the same as that and somethings being better then that model, it won’t work with Media Monkey when using the BT600 adapter. Overall, I am hopeful that the Bluetooth issue can be fixed with software updates. I can deal with the battery and other cons. Would I purchase it again? Hard to say, I love the direction they are going with this headset but, hypothetically, if I knew they were going to come out with a new version with the fixes to the Bluetooth I would probably wait until that came out. Unfortunately there is no word on how that Bluetooth issue will be resolved. I will cross my fingers that the Voyager 8200 isn’t going to be discontinued and that they can fix it.

I ordered these to use while working from home as I wanted noise canceling and also the ability to use Skype via my PC and also my cell phone. Day 1 it started out fine. Starting day 2 issues started to arise. Skype calls I can hear the participants but they can’t hear me. I checked all the settings in the PC etc to no avail. By day 5 the mute and unmute function would just turn itself off and on over and over non stop. After turning off and back on still had the same issue. The next day that stopped but then it kept just disconnecting from my cell in the middle of a call. The noise canceling is just OK. I have used competitor products and they are much better. The headphones are also very heavy and you can not wear them for long periods of time. The design of the build in volume button is not easy to use. I am very disappointed with this product.

I’ve had this headset for about a month now, and it’s my first dedicated headset for working and making phone calls. I was very impressed with the sound quality when I first put them on and listened to some music. The connection between my phone and computer was seamless, allowing me to talk on the computer but also easily accept phone calls. Also the Alexa integration was something that I have gotten a lot of use out of, being able to adjust the thermostat and adjust lights without interrupting the work flow is amazing. The only downside I found was when listening to music on the computer, if I accepted a phone call, or opened a program that would use the microphone (Skype, discord, etc) the audio quality would drop significantly. In theory it shouldn’t make a difference, you would want to stop the music anyways doing a call, but the difference in quality is pretty jarring, I thought something broke at first. Other than that though, I can’t find any problems. Set-up is fast and straightforward, audio quality is superb, they are very lightweight and comfortable to wear for hours while working, I usually forget their even on. And the noise cancelling is great.

Exceptional sound and with Poly acoustic fence technology you can confidently use these for a conference call even in load environments. Best headset I have ever used.
