Enjoy your tunes and answer calls without wires with the Voyager 8200 UC Bluetooth Headset from Plantronics. Boasting up to 20 hours of talk time, 24 hours of listening time, and up to 98′ of wireless range from supported Bluetooth Class 1 devices, the black over-ear Voyager 8200 headset comes with a compact USB Type-C Bluetooth adapter for connecting to your Mac or Windows PC. An indicator on the adapter lights up when the headset is muted.
Equipped with four internal dual-paired microphones, the boom-less Voyager 8200 features a two-level active noise-cancellation mode that lets you choose how much ambient noise you want to hear. The Voyager’s smart sensors are designed to detect whether you’re wearing the headset, ideal for automatically playing and pausing music or answering calls. A dynamic mute alert warns you when you’re talking while the headset is muted. Certified for Skype for Business and optimized for Microsoft Lync, the Voyager 8200 supports unified communication applications and softphones from Avaya, Cisco, Skype, and others.

Excelent playing music, excelent on voice-calls, annoying playing games (a tiny vibration and poor sound quality when playing even an small game. The volume is restricted to moderate, you can’t blow your ears when listening to favorite song of dropping the bass. Overall very comfortable and light. Hopefully, in a future the volume can be higher and the firmware ports for games will be fixed.

Having had worked in a call center before, bi-aural headsets are every day necessity. The Voyager 4200 UC meets all the features to satisfy the environment of a call enter or just as a Bluetooth headset. The headset is light, with just enough foam seal around the ear to block noise and just good enough of bass to give additional depth in the conversation or for music. For the market price, this headset deserves FIRST try.

I am using this in an open floor office and I have people constantly talking near me and this has been a problem for me trying to keep focus on what the caller is say as well as them trying to filter out my background noise. I tried 3 headphones 1) BOSE QuietComfort 35 ii – Sound quality was good, but the caller felt like I was on speaker phone. So it would only work if I was in a private office. i also did not enjoy the vacuum effect it was having on my ears and i felt the headphone pop on and off when I was talking. 2) Sony MDR 1000xm2 – like the BOSE, sound quality was good, but the caller felt like I was on speaker phone. So it would only work if I was in a private office. The headphones were a bit small for my ears, but I was able to get use to it and felt comfortable after a while. 3) Plantronics Voyager 8200 UC – the noise cancellation feature was no where near Sony and BOSE, but I can definitely notice the humming noise disappearing (we have a server room near by). I can also hear people talking around me a lot louder than on the Sony and Bose, but not an issue when i am listening to the caller. The feature that stands out on this headphone/headset is directional boomless microphone. It really only picks up what is in front of you. I head people talking near me and even when I had my phone play music. The caller was not able to really hear much of that unless I turned my head towards it. Most people don’t notice it, but I did a sound comparison with a caller on my Jarbra Pro and the Plantronics and indicated that Jabra Pro sounded a little better. The headphone a little less comfortable than the Sony, like the Sony, it is a bit small for me, but I can wear it the entire day. I have not found anything that is comparable for a wireless over the hear headphone/headset. I would like to see 1) hard case for the headset 2) improvement on the microphone 3) make it more comfortable

I bought this for my company as we migrated from Skype for business to MS Teams some of our VIP users decided to order a Mac and the compatibility is awful, breaking connections, poor sound quality, you have to use the USB dongle (not ideas for a USB-C MacBook) we were planning to deploy this device as standard but not anymore I can’t imagine having 250 people complaining about a poor and expensive device.

Still doesn’t block noise from the neighbors gardeners. The Bose performance is better.

I am giving this 3 stars – because the boomless mic set-up (using 4 different mic’s with Noise Cancelling) is AWESOME. The Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) is quite poor comparing to other ANC headphones out there. If you do not have a call or anything else (media-wise) playing…you can truly hear E V E R Y T H I N G around you. Quite frankly, when the ANC is turned off, it almost sounds as if one has activated the “OpenMic” feature. There is little to no difference between the two ANC modes. PRO’s: The sound quality of media, streaming audio, and music is pretty darn good over these headphones. Great bass response and also the higher, “sparkly” treble ranges sound great as well. Microphone – using for calls/web conference…This is where these headphones SHINE – and the Number ONE reason why I haven’t returned them….yet. Again, I am not too pleased (especially for the $-point I paid) with the ANC. I really expect more from Plantronics, and I am trying to remain positive (perhaps an update is in the near future) Comfort – these headphones are quite comfortable! Controls – Once you get used to the controls, they are easy to use. I have noticed, however, that after the last firmware upgrade, I can no longer control my phone/device (and pc’s) audio volume. Connectivity – Excellent! I highly recommend using the included BT600 with one’s laptop – it makes quite a difference for call quality and distance. BATTERY LIFE – 21+ hours on full charge – Outstanding! CON’s: Already mentioned the ANC

I use this headset daily. Mostly to talk to customers and have a hand free experience. I work in an environment where there is a good bit of noise and others talking. These are really comfortable and sound great even when I listen to music. I bag they came with is perfect for travel or just throwing them in my luggage.

Putting them on only remove certain levels of noise. foreaxmple the airconditioning I sit next to gets even more noisy. If people are talk next to me I still hear them. Forexample: BOSE headphones get totally quiet and remove all noise.

So I do use them EVERY DAY for a year now. I spend nearly 60% of work time in those headphones. The only downside is that after 4 hours my ears get warm – in winter it is very useful instead of a hat. You could ask: why not 5 stars? I use them as tel-co headset in pretty noisy office environment. This office noise is unstable and unpredictable. Best thing about Voyager 8200 is that they perfectly cut off all side sounds when I am talking – I can even participate in a tel-co with someone sitting next to me (don’t ask why I do that, but yes, I often have to 😉 ) and there is no echoes or anything similar. Anyone I asked about it, said that I have BEST headset in whole company (from tel-co speaker perspective) The issue is that I can hear too much noises going through those solid earmuffs. I was looking for a great headset that will cut me off from external noise in the office and while flying in an airplane. I know Voyager could do better as hardware, but it needs improved software with ANC. Both levels are just too kind for noise that is around me. My collegues use different vendors; products and they have way better ANC experience even with on-ear headphones that have a slightly more difficult task to cut-off outside world. So it is not like I expect impossible things – others do that nowadays, so you need to improve your software and you are also there 😉

These by far are the best headphone i have to date for over the ear headphones. they feel great for hours and hours a day. they do not put pressure on your ears as many do because they cover your ear. I am not a small person also. the sound is great and the noise cancellation works good. Very comfortable on the head also. I have tried at least 6 different styles of head sets and these are number 1. hence the price for them. expensive but worth every penny

I work in communications sales and I get to see and try out a lot of headsets. This is by far the best headset on the market. It beats all of the Jabra headsets (Quality, Price and Support) It’s much better than the “Home User” Sennheiser. (These are “plasticy” and feel cheap.) Caveat. If you are an Office Worker only and if you don’t travel, you might want to consider the PLT Focus instead. It has a similar audio quality but it has a BOOM Mic, it’s smaller and it doesn’t cover your ears entierly. it just sits on your ears. Or if you like Sports and Activities, the UC6200 might be a better fit. My 8200 in FANTASTIC on Planes, the 2 levels of Noise Cancellation are GREAT. Also I used it on a Lawn Tractor at full throttle for a test. My Wife said the sound was pretty good. I recommend this headset.

I started carrying these headphones during all of my trips. I’ve had joined multiple calls at airports, while commuting, public areas and no one has complained about the quality of my calls or background noise. Now they are a MUST for all my work trips. As an opportunity I would say that the design could be a bit more compact, also they could be a bit more lightweight.

I have owned this headset for about two years. Initially I was super excited about the quality of the headset, but over time the device has started to become disappointing. Initially, there were software issues, which took a lot of time to figure out. Then I was never really sure what content my headset was connecting to (iPad, iPhone, computer), sometimes it was random. I just took this as one of the negatives as being able to switch between devices easily and decided I could live with the quirkiness. The headset has very strong Bluetooth, so even when I select a different Bluetooth to listen to my music (for example my Airpods), the 8200 keeps budding in, even if it is in a different room. This is annoying, but I can live with it. What is very disappointing is the quality of the soft plastic of the ear shells. It started to degenerate after a year and now I am embarrassed to show my headset in public, because it looks as if I picked it out of the garbage. But the most disappointing is that the noise-canceling has stopped working all together and the microphone has become so bad that people on the other end are complaining that they cannot hear me. So if you are looking to own the device for about a year or so, it’s a good buy. If you are looking to own it for a longer period, I cannot recommend it based on my experience.
