Terminate up to 10 Cat 6 cables quickly with the EZ-RJ45 CAT6 Connectors in a clamshell package from Platinum Tools. Each connector comes outfitted with thru holes that let you pass colored networking wires through and out in the front so you can easily verify the proper wiring order. To improve electrical performance, the connector pulls the cable jacket tightly in the back, reducing the distance between the wire twists and contacts. In addition, these connectors are compatible with solid or stranded wires and feature a one-piece design with no bars or liners.

I had the same issue as the other reviewer, I don’t have the Platinum Tools crimper. First, I tried crimping the connector on and then trimming the wires flush with the end of the RJ45 connector, this was a major fail as there is no way to cleanly trim them flush without ruining the connector especially with thicker CAT6 wires. My second attempt went better. Before I crimped the connector I pushed the wires out past the end of the plug as far as I could, used my crimper to cut all the wires straight and as close to the plug as possible, then pulled them back in (about 1mm) and then crimped the connector on. This method worked fine the wires are crimped, flush, and the jacket is captured too. My cables are working flawlessly.

The tab on these is just not firm enough and will easily break if you try to pull it beyond a very short distance. Love the design which makes the wire go through, but only the Platinum tools EZ crimp tool works in order to cut the output wires neatly. And that crimp tool is just about the worse crimp tool I have ever used, and I have used many, it misses pin 8 and there are so many complaints about this here that I don’t understand why b&h are still selling this flawed crimp tool. Also, if you crimp this 2-3 times the chances are very high that you will break either the tab, or the edge of the connector. My first purchase out of dozens here at b&h which I regret.
