Needed extra USB ports for my mac air laptop. The pass through charging is the best feature. Affordable compared to similar products.

Card reader didn’t work well; had to keep reinserting which unknowingly damaged my SD card. The card came apart when I tried to insert it into my Sony a6000 and terminally damaged the camera body, worth about $250.00. Also, kept heating up, causing the hub to stop working.

I do a lot of 3D modeling and 3D print preparation on my Google Pixel Slate, and finding a USB-C dock that would allow both USB breakout and charging has been IMPOSSIBLE. After several returned products to Monoprice and others, I finally got this one. I’m very pleased and my super-portable engineering rig is happily moving all about with me!

I have only used this unit a few hours, so I don’t know how it will wear, especially with the trapped cable, but if it stays on your desktop it should perform well. Nothing beats it for the features at the price and it did work with my somewhat finicky hdmi to dvi cable on an older monitor. Wd give it 5 stars but I don’t know how well it will wear.
