I scored a couple of these for under 200 and they are fast but one writes at about 800MB/s slower than the other

I compared the read/write speed of this 4TB PNY M.2 NVMe SSD to my 2TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus and they were close to each other. Of course the read speed was not even close enough to the claimed 3500MB/s but I was not expcting that anyway as I never saw this number in any PCIe 3.0 M.2 NVMe SSD.

Test on a ASUS Strix B550-F MB and performs as expected. Huge improvement in photo editing speed from RAID HDD. Highly recommend this upgrade if using disk-intensive programs.

I bought four of the 2TB models and a Sonnet M.2 4×4 Silent card to put in my 2019 Mac Pro in a striped array as a scratch disk. Excellent speed. The individual sticks were able to read and write at close to 3GB/s (at least as fast as the pair of SSDs supplied by Apple) and as a striped set of four, they are up over 6GB/s.

I bought four of these to put in a Sonnet 4×4 PCIe card. Don’t bother buying them, they don’t get they don’t get anywhere close to claimed speed. I tested each of the four single units in Blackmagic Disk Speed test and in AJA System Test and not one of them could get consistent read speeds over 650MB/s. This is nowhere near the claimed 3,500 MB/s read speed and no better than a SATA SSD. When in RAID-0 on the SONNET they couldn’t even manage more than 1250MB/s consistently. This is absolutely awful performance for a 4 disk NVME PCIe-3 connected RAID-0.

I installed this in Xcellon USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C M.2 SSD Enclosure. Not as easy as it could be to install with the correct settings, but PNY tech support helped.
