Quickly back up or transfer 128GB of data with the Elite USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C Flash Drive from PNY Technologies. The PRO Elite is equipped with USB 3.0/USB 3.1 Gen 1 technology, which enables it to offer read speeds up to 130 MB/s and write speeds up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0. When connected to a USB 3.0 port, this level of performance lets you transfer photos, videos, and other file types quickly. In addition, the flash drive utilizes a sliding collar housing design that protects the USB connector when not in use and slides out when connection is needed. all positive except the compqny clqims they hqve no plans to do a 1tb version. Nice to not carry around a large drive to backing up photos

Fantastic size and shape and build quality. It’s compact and well built. Size of a squished cigarette lighter. Slow transfers. While it will burst at the start at close to 300MB/sec, its sustained speed is closer to 110MB/sec. This is with newish MBP and large video and/or photo files.

Nice little SSD. I don’t have any great need for speed, so I can’t comment on that.

Many large thumbdrives (500GB+) have ads bragging about READ speed without mentioning WRITE speed. I bought this PNY 512GB flash drive to do a Time Machine backup and I waited days for the backup to finish until I realized it was going to take more than a week. Useless. I ordered a Kodak SSD drive instead for about the same price and it finished the backup in about an hour. CHECK THE WRITE SPEED before you buy. DON’T BUY IT IF THEY DON’T SHOW THE WRITE SPEED!

This model is compact, fast, and at least as good as the SSD drives made my Samsung and other manufacturers for prices that can be almost double PNY’s price.

Speedy access to read and wrote. But doesn’t allow a second ISB C connection on Mac with only 2 ports.

Note the backslide in speed on what should be new tech. This is how technology companies make money by overlapping with previous generations technology and then later selling you an upgrade with faster speed.
