Fairly fast compared to my other same size USBs, not the fastest, but not slow either. Does not get hot (it will heat up but not to the point of being concerned. This is my 3rd PNY 512GB. I think very highly of it.

Reformatted to NTFS as window10 not like exFAT. I moved 13 full Blu-ray movies at speed of 175mb. Not scorching fast but 5 minutes to move 30gig file………….. So far happy.

I purchased this drive as (yet another) backup of some important files on my computer. First out-of-the-box impression was positive. The body cover is metal and the weight adds a feeling of security. The large (256 GB) capacity insures that I’ll be using it for many years to come. It also allows me to save multiple file versions and delete the old ones as I please, rather than deleting the files just to make room for new ones. I haven’t speed tested it but, after backing up a couple of large files, it seems to be performing satisfactorily. I’m sure the USB 3.0 interface helps. Minor complaints: 1- There is no LED indicator light, but the drive is hot-swappable, so there should be no problems. 2- The slide function is pretty stiff. Maybe it will loosen up after a while. 3- No password protection. I don’t plan on traveling with this drive, but still… it’s 2018 folks. Stuff happens.

I needed additional storage for images that was quick and nimble. This flash drive is both in a small device. The download speed is super fast and I can access stored file much quicker than an external hard drive. Perfect!

B & H should discontinue this product for the sake of its customers. It is slow, very slow, you have to wait and wait two minutes for it to show its contents and then two minutes to open Avery single file or document. You may spend 10 minutes to access a simple file if you are opening several folders.
