The Porter Cable 5 in. Random Orbit Sander is ideal for surface preparation for coating, smoothing seams and for removing paint, varnish and old coatings. Featuring 1.9 Amp that provide 12,000 OPM for maximum sanding speed on smooth finishes, this sander is lightweight and easy to use with a dual plane, counter-balanced fan that reduces user fatigue on longer jobs. The controlled finishing system maintains controllable pad speed to minimize gouging during startup and with a dust sealed switch that protects the sander from dust ingestion, you get a longer switch life and added durability.

Rarely leaves swirls, easy to control, compatible with the newer 8 hole sand paper design. Cons: the dust collection port falls off the sander super easy when connected to a vacuum. Also, when you take the dust bag off the large round outlet is the exact size of standard vacuum hoses and wont connect. You need to drop down to a smaller hose to connect into one if the other options. Dust collection is definitely subpar to other sanders, but the other sanders im referring to left swirls so its worth the tradeoff to me.
