I am a professional carpenter. I use this orbital sander for fast surface prep. I also use the DeWalt Orbital sander. The Porter Cable works great. My only complaint is that I have trouble keeping the dust collection bag on the sander. The sander itself runs smooth and quiet. (relative to others).It does a good job of stock removal and surface prep for finishing.

This is a good little worker, and I’m very pleased with its performance. The only problem was securing the connection between the sander and the dust collector. A YouTube video helped immensely. Either the instructions should indicate the degree of force you need to attach it or the whole unit should come attached from the manufacturer.

Quality tool for $40! Unheard of. I’ve used this orbital sander for years without issue. Had to replace cause the new guy left the old one at job site and it disappeared☹️

I have owned several brands of orbital sanders but this is by far the best I’ve used. The only problem was finding one on the shelves at any of your stores. This is the reason I ordered it online (not that I mind shopping online but I had to buy another brand to use until the Porter Cable arrived). You beat the price at Lowes by $7.00 but they didn’t have any on their shelves either.

I’ve always used Porter sanders i like that they have a lower rpm than most sanders & are very durable, i use mine extensively & drop more times than i can count and i still get a minimum of 5 years out of them. I highly recommend.

I would gladly pay a few more bucks if Porter would correct the problem with the dust collector blowing off every time you turn it on. Not practical to use inside.
