I just received my PC 4212 deluxe dovetail jig, I feel like a kid on Christmas day. I haven’t used it yet. It was packed very well all new. The manual is easy to read and understand with lot of pictures. They also have a website to register with lots of information. This jig is solidly built and reasonably priced. Will return for a second review after using this jig.

I use this to make drawers and boxes. It took a whiole to learn the ins and outs but in the long run paid off. HD had the best price and shipping was great. Ii would recomend this to anyone for wood working with a little patience . After a year I am still very pleased and it is holding up great.

The jig has a lot of capability and pretty easy initial setup. However, particularly if using both sides of the jig, or a single wide board, it does not have accurate side to side calibration so considerable trial/error and wasted material is results. Pin boards may also slip out of position.

I’ve only had this jig a few days, but I’ve cut some half-blinds so far. First set were too loose, and after adjustment, the next set was too tight. The joints look pretty good for a novice. Instructions are adequate. Unit is very well built, but the lettering on the templates are hard to read without getting a good angle with plenty of light. I’m looking forward to learning more. Once these things are dialed in I believe that it will be easy enough to make quality joints.

It took Home Depot about three weeks to get this item shipped to its store. If I’d ordered from Amazon, it would have been here in a couple of days and $10.00 cheaper. I’ll do more looking next time.The dovetail jig is well made and sturdy….it should last a long time. The step-by-step instructions were clear and concise. The only times I got into real trouble were the times I failed to complete a step or screwed up elsewhere. After a little practice, I was able to make darned good half-blind dovetails, and pretty good through dovetails. There are several You-Tube segments which show you how it’s done. Take the time to watch them…they really helped to put the entire operation into perspective.

I have tried making 10 drawers and have yet to get them to line up. The joint I’d fine but the height of the two boards is consistently off.
