Includes multiple templates, bits and bushings and I’m happy. Be sure to download the supplemental pdf owners manual from PC, as the basic manual is rather basic. Have patience! Tinker with it on scrap for a while and you’ll be cutting clean dovetails in no time.

This is the third dovetail jig I’ve used and this is by far the best. The only thing to consider is the number of joints per inch. Make sure you are happy with the size, angle and spacing.

Set up was a little confusing, but in about one hour and two tries I made a nearly perfect set of half blind dovetails. I did a lot of research before I bought. This was always rated at or near the top.

I purchased a Dovetail Jig with Mini Template Kit (4216) on Aug 7, 2020. When I used the jig, the sides were uneven by about a 1/16″ The silver miniature guide is bent wrong causing an out of parallel condition by 1/16″ on the pin board.

Excellent tool for dovetails. Tough and precise. Suggest purchasing this set as a posed to the set without the two added plates as the plate on the first set limits you to large dovetail cuts while this one, for half the price of the additional two plates, gives you the small and medium dovetail cuts for drawers and smaller items.

This is a great jig, once you get the hang of it. It would really be helpful if it came with an instructional video along with the written instructions. It is a good solid design…should hold up for many years. You are much better off if you have a more powerful router with an interchangeable 1/4 and 1/2 inch collet.

Works great. I’m new to woodworking as a hobby and I never made dovetails before. I took my time setting everything up and I got very nice, clean, tight dovetails. What I did to practice was to make a large drawer out of some cheap poplar boards. I started by making the through dovetails. Opened up the instructions and just followed along. After each practice, I just cut off the tails and pins and started over. I think I did that maybe 4 times. The key is to take your time and make sure the set-up is correct. With each practice drawer, my dovetails got to be tighter and cleaner. I have not tried to make any blind dovetails yet as I am still just constructing some shop furniture. I suggest getting the 4216 over the 4212. The 4216 has everything you need and was actually cheaper than the 4212. At least it was at the time I bought it.
