This thing works great! It makes joining boards a snap. You have to do your part for fitting but after that there’s nothing to it! The only negative is the dust bag! Porter Cable would have bettered there reputation by not including it!

This product arrived and I opened it up and tried it. It works to my satisfaction, as I assumed it would. I have not had time to work with it further so I cannot make any further statements about it.

An excellent product but the two plate joiners I have used always have dust bags that plug up the chip pipe. I found an easy solution. Cut a short piece of plastic 13/16″ (2.1cm) water pipe that will fit into the hole. It may have to be sanded down a bit. Add a 90 degree elbow, and this will direct the sawdust onto the floor. Works well.

The tool was great and all that I expected except the condition it arrived in. The fence was scratched and the abrasive end where the blade comes out was delaminating. I bought new online and it appeared used. Not happy but no time to return it as I was on a job where it needed to be used.

This is the first biscuit joiner I have owned so nothing to compare it to, however I have been a woodworker for over 40 years and have a good sense about a tools designated use and end results. Based on that criteria this product rates in the excellent category in my opinion. I saw a number of options some costing considerably more and some less but for my money based on the results I have had don’t take a chance on spending too much or spending a few dollars more buy the Porter-Cable. It’s ease of use and the quality construction make it an ideal choice, and oh did I mention the results exceeded my expectations. If you are laying up panels as I have done then don’t hesitate purchase this product and I will tell you, you won’t be disappointed.

First of all…It’s Robert, not Dolores… Unless you want my 80 year old mom to rate this tool! Fence is great, which is what attracted me to this tool. Motor is great too. Smooth, powerful, porter cable…. The fence is accurate out of the box and adjustments are easy. It’s a nice solid piece. The only con is the dust bag. I had to bendthe spring clamp in order for it to hold, and it clogged up after cuts for just 6 #20 biscuits! Going to call PC on this…maybe a defective bag? didn’t try a vac yet…

Over a 40 year time span I have edge glued dozens of boards for various projects, but have done so without any type of joining tool. Facing the glue up of 20 or so oak stair tread returns to the stair treads I decided to try a biscuit joiner to see if it would make the process easier and results better.Oh my!!!! This tool is incredible!!!! After cutting slots in two practice boards, I used the joiner on my first stair tread and return. The machine performed flawlessly! The resulting joint is absolutely perfect! I’m kicking myself for not having purchased this Porter Cable plate joiner years ago. If you find yourself edge gluing boards from time to time, this tool will save you lots of heartaches and headaches, and will pretty much guarantee perfect joints. After reading hundreds of plate joiners, I decided to go with the Porter Cable, and I’m so glad I did! It’s an excellent machine!!! I am extremely satisfied!!!!Oh….the dust collector is completely worthless…….wouldn’t even attach to the joiner.

would never consider another brand the face frame blade / feature is worth the price alone.

I haven’t had the opportunity to use my new tool yet, however, porter cable always been my favorite. Looking at this tool, I can tell that it is built to last. Because I have not tried it yet, I cannot say anything negative about it, so I will give it a 5 star. I would recommend Porter Cable plate joiner to anybody. So start shopping at Home Depot now and get your plate joiner.

I have owned and used many Porter Cable tools for the past 20 some years and still have those tools in my shop. I have never had an issue with them even though in some instances they have been neglected. I just received a new plate joiner and at first look I was impressed with the detail and solid adjustment points. I picked up the chip/dust bag and went to install it and found that there was no way it was going to stay attached to the chip chute. The spring clamp that is to hold it on the chute is probably an inch over size, does anyone check this stuff or do you just alow it to damage the reputation of the name and company…….maybe add a go and no go fixture. I’m sure it will be taken care of by customer service but it shouldn’t have to be.
