You get what you’re expecting. Like all Porter Cable tools and accessories, this is a quality addition to my shop. It is very handy that the router mounts in so the switch is positioned close to your right thumb. This way, you don’t have to let go of the handle to turn the machine on and off.

I’ve got two 690 fixed base routers which I bought in the early 90s. I was toying with buying another “mid-sized” router, but decided to buy this base instead. Changing out the base was quick and easy. The plunge is smooth and the depth stop turret allows multiple passes to build up to deep, repeatable depth mortises, rabbets, dados, et cetera.The base is well made and works nicely with the other Porter Cable accessories (bushings and fences) I have.
