Great deal. Cheaper than Woodcraft and performs great!

I am a serious hobbyist woodworker who often does cabinet making and other jobs for friends. I love this router because it is equally useful mounted in a table creating joinery or freehand rounding over or creating various edges. There is more than enough power with this unit to perform any job, it has a smooth start-up. In addition to cabinet work, I have used this router to round over edges on pressure-treated wood used to build a large swing set in the yard. Just a great and versatile tool. highly recommended!

Excellent tool. Would like to see a case included for the price, but not a significant detraction.

does the job when finger jointing. but bogs down if ran for a length of time. 30 year old porter cable 3 1/4 hp plunge router that still works great can be ran for hours with steady feeding of stock. so not quit the production model as old girl. but I would recommend this router

Porter Cable is one of the best brands. This router is powerful enough for any bit. I put mine in a custom made router table.I bought the base thinking I *might* use it as a hand held router. NOT. Way too heavy and way to powerful to hold in your hand.1/2″ collet only! Good news, the 1/4″ collet from any PC router will work. It is really hard to use a solid carbide 1/4″ bit without a 1/4″ collet 🙂

Plenty of power to do what I’m currently working on cabinet doors works well in the kreg router table.

This machine is extremely loud but powerful. I have cut miter lock joints and raised paneling and experienced no bog down at all!!

I build a lot of decks, I use this router to cut the 5/4 decking boards off. I run the boards at random lengths then use a bearing guided router bit to cut right through the 5/4. I will purchase a new one if this one ever wears out.

This is a great router. I have I mounted on a table and it’s easy to adjust the height for precision cuts. The motor is powerful and does the job every time.

Works great in my router table

This replaced my first generation Hitachi M12V 3.5 HP router which I used for 13 years. It seems to be a more heavy duty machine based on its heft. The speed controls does not respond anywhere near as fast as the hitachi did however. Ironically the speed control is what died on the Hitachi.

As advertised

I have four routers already and this makes five.Although I do have a 3-1/4 router, I looked at this router for a long time just as an adjustable lift router. I was completely pleased with it’s performance, power, speeds, soft start, it was great, and did not disappoint. Having the base is a plus and gives me more opportunity for other uses.

This is my second variable speed production router, my first 7518 I purchased in 1987 and it is a tank along with the 7539 I bought with it, both are still running strong with only brush replacement on the 7518 a couple years ago, but this newer version is to be solely used in my router lift and it is serving that role perfectly so far since February 10, 2020 it’s running and chewing through some ash and curly maple with zero effort! My only issue is that I wish PC kept manufacturing in the U.S.A. I just hope this newer version holds up to the riggers that my first one is doing.

I’ve had this beast for many years. It lives in my router table and has never failed me. Others I’ve used crapped out! Not this one!

Excellent machine, tech is old but an excellent table machine with lots of power.

I bought this router to go in my router table so I’ve never used it by hand. It’s certainly heavy duty enough for router table work with large cutters. My only complaint is that it tends to run quite hot after running for a while.

This is my second 7518 production router and I love it, I used my first 7518 router handheld for 8 or 9 years and then put it on a router table. I just bought this new one about a month ago and it is awesome ! It has new plastic handles which are really comfortable and of course it has plenty of power.
