It is worth the money. There is a little dust but really not that much to worry about. Makes sanding 10 times faster. I would buy another if this one ever brakes

I rented this machine 3 times. Its amaizing for removing popcorn ceiling. I gave it 4 stars because the plastic wheel that holds the sand paper heats up and the thread melts. Making the disk fly off. Also, home depot stores dont carry the sand paper replacements. One out of 5 stores in my area did.

Exceeded my expectations for dust collection, which was excellent, but must be used with a shop vac with proper ‘fine dust’ filter insert. The Porter-Cable 7800 drywall sander is heavy at 8 1/2 pounds, so good upper body strength is essential for the user, especially for ceiling work.
