The Sander is Great! But Porter Cable is a big disappointment. The manual that came with the sander is dated May 2013. The parts list that came with the sander is dated July 2007. The date code on the sander is dated 2018. No big deal unless you are ordering parts. The parts list is not detailed on the sanding head. I needed a hook and loop sanding head. This is my first experience with a powered dry wall sander.

This sander was worth every dollar! We sanded the ceiling of a 2100 square foot house in less than a day. The machine was a little awkward at first but it got easier to operate once the technique was perfected.

Works well, makes removing popcorn ceilings stupid easy. It is picky about extension cords – so read the instructions related to proper length and gauge and you will be fine.

DIY reviewer here – I am glad that I pulled the trigger based on a few reviews that mentioned how they should have purchased this model to start. THANK YOU to all those that made those comments. I used this PC sander on a few walls and I am very happy with the results. One wall had a few light patches and the other wall had a few “first coat” patches. Amazing on how quickly the walls were leveled and most importantly, the dust collection was exactly what I hoped for. I also use an older 12 gal Ridgid shop vac. I believe that helps as well.I tried it on a hallway closet and of course it wasn’t meant for tight spaces, however, I still made it work. It was flexible enough to get what I needed done. It’s a little heavier than I expected but not a con. The noise level is not bad. My shop vac is way louder. I guess if I had to pick on how to improve this model it would need to be the price. The price compared to what’s out there increased the amount of time I spent reading reviews online. I feel like such a sap in saying, thank you Porter Cable. The amount of time that I’ve saved, the energy in sanding manually, the overall dust that I no longer experience, the procrastination in dealing with “the overall dust experience” is so worth the price I paid. I now need a case for it. No one’s touch this sander!
