I haven’t had much chance to use it yet, but the tool feels well balanced, easy to use, and produces a lot less noise than my previous machine. I love the soft start and don’t feel like I lose control as soon as I turn it on. Get the centering cone for the base!

I have a handful of PC older routers all made in the U.S.A. when I purchased them back in the 80’s like my first model100, then 691DH, 690, 7539, and 7518, All are top notch and still running and performing flawlessly, I just picked up the 895PK today to use in my horizontal router table but of yet to run a single board foot through its paces but overall appears to be what I’d expect of today’s composite material made power tools, somewhat cheesy in only the plastic components but only in appearances, the first impressions are good quality along with the well machined aluminum core of the motor housing and bases that came with this kit, the test I performed of just turning on the motor and running the speed control through its speed ranges seemed good with its soft start, lower noise emissions than earlier models, low vibrations and overall comfort Help me believe it will be a good performing tool.I will re-visit the review section after a few months of use to give a better response to what I like or dislike so I initially give this a 4 star review and recommend it as of now to anyone needing a higher horsepower rated router to spin up larger cutters in a well manageable hand hold able model.

Still a novice user but this thing is a beast. Cuts with little to no trouble with even thick (3/4″ or thicker) hardwood, MDF, and ABS plastic (small increments depth wise with the plastic). I personally use the ECO-Tray bit set from mobile solutions because my woodworking is car audio based. The plunge base(w/ vacuum attachment) is awesome to use with the Jasper circle jigs. It makes it very easy to make those perfect circle for subwoofer boxes. I have to say my biggest pro for this router is the adjustment features. Port-a-Cable really thought of it all. I will definitely be purchasing another one of these router motors for my future router table setup!

This combination is very close to perfect.b the motor is quiet and delivers constant speed in varied work applications. I have the fixed base permanently attached to my router table. And use the plunge base with dust collection ., for everything else. No complaints yet, and I don’t expect any.

Absolutely love this router. I bought it for a couple reasons.. I needed a good plunge router, it has dust collection, it has the router table lift feature, and it fits SO many aftermarket base plates and jigs. So far I’ve only used it in my second router table and it has all the power I need. Used it with a couple ogee bits to edge. Using them to make new kitchen cabinet drawer fronts and new doors. As you can see from the pictures, it cuts fantastic. Though it sounds odd, I really like how the height adjuster handle has up and down on it. Funny but it’s useful for me. The only thing I was bummed about is that the dust collection is only on the plunge base, which is not the base that goes in the router table. So wish they has something (even if I had to purchase) for dust collection on the fixed base. So odd there is nothing. Maybe there is a good reason I don’t know about. But overall I am very happy with this router and would buy again without hesitation. Going to be making a number of dog holes in my new assembly table and I am sure this is going to be perfect for the job.

I replaced a DeWalt that I only bought because it was on sale. Mistake. Should have stayed with the PC. This this is so much smoother to operate and without problems. Do wish it came with a D handle base though. Nice tool!
