Porter Cable has always come through with quality products for a decent priceThe reason I bought this gun is because I know several people who have one and they are always reliable

I bought this nailer 8/20/2010. I am an occasional user. I take meticulous care of my tools and they last me a long time I have used this nailer maybe once or twice a year. Shortly after I bought it I had intermittent firing. This was very frustrating in that I would carefully line things up and pull the trigger and nothing would happen. Then I would try again and again and it would start working for another 20 to 30 nails. This time it would only work for 5 to 7 nails at a time then quit altogether. I tried every thing and cleaned everything. Still would not work. I will take into the Greenville service center and see what they say. Right now I could not recommend POrter-Cable tools with my experience.

Great gun. Works well. Only issue I had was with a return spring in the depth adjuster which returns the contact trip (part at the tip that lets the trigger know to fire because it’s pressed up against something) to reset. The spring came dislodged after about a 4′ drop off a ladder and the contact trip quit resetting consistently, and needed to be pulled back out manually to reset the trigger. I placed the spring back into its position and haven’t had a problem since but it doesn’t look like it’s too hard for the spring to pop out again (can probably make a permanent fix with gorilla glue). I don’t make dropping the gun a regular occurrence, and I suppose it’s not good for any gun, but the lack of a decent detent to hold that spring in place doesn’t instill a lot of confidence in the event of a future drop and earned it a four star rating. Otherwise, I couldn’t be happier with the gun. Bought it on sale for cheaper than any other brand name finish nailer and it almost reminds me of the good ol’ Porter Cable days.

My first nail gun and my new favorite power tool. Only desired feature would be a way to indicate that you’re out of nails or a mechanism to stop firing at that point.

Light weight and easy to handle, depth adjustment easy to use, used for overhead tongue and groove installation. Will be using for wood working and DIY home remodeling projects. Porter Cable is my go-to for quality tools.

Not having to lub each use is great. Several hundred nails driven and no problmes. Light weight is great working overhead. Rotate belt hook right or left. If left in center position will contact hand.

After my old finish nailer quit, I bought this one. It is easy to use and works well to drive finish nails. So far, I have used it to nail up some base and door trim in a newly remodeled room. For this application, it worked as expected. I did notice that the air pressure needs to be set properly to get the desired depth of the nail into the trim. There is also a depth dial on the gun to set the nail depth. This takes a little tweaking as different trims have different compositions. I left the non-marring tip on the nailer which is a nice feature for keeping the trim looking good. The nail release is easy to use in case you want to change to a different length of nail. The exhaust channel can also be moved to keep it away from your face. Also, note that this nailer is designed to be used without oil.

Worked great and made the job much quicker. The directions could be a bit better but long story short it’s good to go right out of the box unless you want it setup for a bump trigger. Worked fine for as is

This is a good basic finish nailer. Quality is good. It’s porter cable. Although I must say that in general the quality of all tools has been declining. I suppose manufacturers assume we need these things so when they fail we just go buy another one. Anyway, no bells and whistles, easy depth adjustment. Works well. Time will tell on longevity. Lightweight.

Everything I thought it would be. The name ” Porter Cable “, speak’s for itself. Balanced , with excellent handling ease. Work’s great for all my trim needs.

Works well. Comes with single fire trigger installed. It has a separate ‘contractor’ trigger packaged with it for multi/repeat fire along with instructions on how to change out if desired. Hard carrying case is pretty nice.Would have liked ability to toggle between modes on the gun without changing triggers, but it suits my needs. Package contents said it came with some oil for it, but I did not find it in my packaging. Those are the only two reasons it didn’t get five stars.Very nice for the price.

I got this tool for Christmas. We bought a house and we’re remodeling top to bottom. This nailer is lightweight. It has a comfortable grip and trigger. I really like the way the nose guard grips the surface to hold the tool in place. The adjustable air exhaust is a nice feature. It’s easy to load. But the thing I like most is it has fired 2000+ nails over 5 months without a single jam. And it fires until empty using every nail in the cartridge. I’m still waiting for a jam. I have found many uses for this nailer. I didn’t give 5 stars due to the hose must be removed from the tool in order to use the depth adjust dial and even then it is difficult to turn. And the continuous fire requires the trigger to be changed. I’ve not been able to try it because either no black trigger was packaged with my tool or it was disposed of with the packaging. All said, I am happy with my gift and I would purchase this tool. I highly recommend it to others.

This is one sexy finish nailer. This machine has lasting power throughout the entire task. this thing shoots a good size shaft into your project.

Safety lock on trigger could be improved. Gun still fires with safety lock on. Other than that the gun works as expected.
