The 6 Amp Hand Planer provides smooth cutting in hard materials. This planer has a dual-side dust extractor that allows the flexibility to place the dust extraction on either side of the tool to keep the work area clean. The overmold depth knob offers 10 positive steps which allow for better planer control and multiple depth control settings, along with 3 chamfering grooves for options on edge chamfering. An 11.5 in. cast aluminum shoe provides added control and better finish quality. Plus, the 5/64 in. D-of-cut removes excess material in less time.

Amazing machine at first I was not sure if it was a good decision to buy this planer I owned porter cable tools in the past and yes I would recommend this planer

I bought this tool 5 years ago but didn’t have time to use it until I retired last year. The planer is great and does a great job. My issue is that the collection bag plugs up the chip port before the bag is full. When this happens it shoots chips all over the work shop. I’m going to adapt the discharge to my shop vac. Otherwise it’s a great tool.

I bought this to help with my work with Volunteers of America building wheelchair ramps and other safety projects. Used it to plane some oak 1x6s for door thresholds so wheelchair could roll over, worked extremely well!

I couldn’t get a replacement part for my black & Decker planer so I bought this one. Glad my other one broke. Well designed, and the blades are parallel with the bottom, also my spare blades will fit this one. To early to tell about the dependability.

I bought this this afternoon and it was easy to operate, reasonable weight, planed edges of spacers for six inch windows so molding would sit flat on wall.

Using to plane down doors to fit existing 30″ wide jams. Old house so only taking 1/8″ or so off of new doors. Makes life easy. Not sure on the durability yet but it works as advertised.

I ordered this item twice and both times the box was missing the 2 spare blades. I don’t think it was just a coincidence and I think they may have forgotten to include them from the Porter Cable factory. Just contact Porter Cable warranty service and they’ll send you the spare blades. Home Depot shipping was fast and customer service was very helpful and courteous.

The plastic zipper on the dust bag broke the first time I used the planer. I had emptied the bag perhaps a dozen times. I then noticed the zipper was no longer zipping. Perhaps a metal zipper would be more durable. Otherwise, I was very pleased with the quality of the planing and the ease of use.

I have an old 1845 home. I am always having door closing issues, so I bought this to adjust my doors to fit better. My big complaint would be; the height adjuster seems to turn too easily when being used as handle to support the planer. Also, the blades seem more like HSS than carbide. I hit a small screw head and have to turn the blades over. In connection with this, I cannot seem to find a part number for replacement blades. Over all I am very satisfied with this product. It does everything that I want it to do. I also own several 18V battery powered Porter Cable tools. A reciprocal saw, 1/4″ impact driver, 1/2″ drill, and PCC581B 18-Volt Infrared Thermometer. I do have a 20V impact wrench as well. The only other problem I have is with the 61/2″ Battery powered circular saw. It hates to cut a straight line and the battery life is worse than terrible.

My wife brought this for me and we have used it several times, it is a great tool and has cut our work down a lot. We have plane Oak and Red Cedar so far and allowed us to make the planks for shelving that we wanted, she is also very please cause it is light enough for her to handle also.
