I wish the gallery of props and locations was bigger

I use this product to help layout my shoots for my crew when shooting my independent films and documentary’s it is very helpful in giving them clarity in my vision and to what I am envisioning in my mind. The great thing about this program is the flexibility in being able to customize characters and locations and the amount of graphics that come with it is terrific, it is so easy to use I have my 7th grade son using it. There really is nothing that I don’t like about the program I have used others but so far this is the most user friendly I would highly recommend it

DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY on Power Production StoryBoard Quick, because the only quick thing is how fast they debit your credit card. Power Production Storyboard is a chintzy, 2D storyboard program that sadly falls way behind the needs of anyone who requires any 3D perspective in their shots. The shots are flat, and you can’t move characters in front of or behind objects. Frame Forge is so far advanced, you can almost make your film using that program. THE WORST PART of Power Production Story Board is not how lousy the program is, but how overly protective this greedy company is of their licensing. If you ever need to change your hard drive, update your processor or replace your computer, you will either have a massively difficult time transferring the license, or in some cases, never be able to use the program again. So save your money and buy a real storyboard program from a real company.

We have tried to use this software and have run into several issues with respect to activating the software, printing the storyboard and other items. There is no phone support, and you have to submit a problem on a job ticket. It takes a couple of days to get an answer which is not acceptable. This is not worth the money.

I started using StoryBoard Quick for my student projects and now I use it to storyboards ALL of my films and videos (video shorts, TV ads and a music video!). For me this is what it boils down to: it’s fast and it works. What’s great about it is how easy it is to get work done! Actually done. I don’t have time to draw by hand and SB Quick help me preplan all of my shoots to not only organize the entire project for me, but for those I’m working with. Sure, sometimes there’s a specific prop I need that the software doesn’t have, but it’s so easy to import graphics it’s never been a problem. The bottom line is it’s simply the perfect tool for the job. I keep Storyboard Quick (and Final Draft) on my laptop so it’s always with me on set. A+++.

This program is cool because you can use your own fotos as backgrounds, but the program is not that easy to navigate. Loading a saved program is hard to retrieve and another hassle trying to load a script into the program.

I am a writer/director in video and film. Considering the difficulties, and costs, associated with storyboarding, we thought this might be a useful tool. It was not. The program is painfully slow. (Even on our 3D graphics computers) The characters rotate in HUGE increments, allowing only close framing options. They also all share the exact same positions for running, jumping, etc. It is impossible to ever get it right. In short, very frustrating. Do not buy this product.

I bought this product to help us with our storyboarding. Prior to this, we were using Powerpoint and post-it notes to depict the scenes we want to convey. This software allows us to simply drag and drop objects onto a blank sheet where we can add captions to describe the scene, assign a team to film it, along with the dialog that goes into the scene. The objects that are available can be limited in some instances, but the fact that they can be rotated somewhat makes up for this shortcoming. Overall, it makes storyboarding much easier compared to our sticky notes method.
