It’s a great lathe perfect for me

Bought this lathe in April. Love it. I never had any tool give me such pleasure. It runs smooth and quiet. There are more features than I have ever had. The indexing feature makes open segmenting super easy. The 8 inch tool rest is fine for most projects but a longer one would be better at times. Maybe a 12 inch rest.

I got this lathe April 14, 2020. While it’s only been a few days, I threw an out of balance 12″ chunk of bone dry and hard Blackjack oak on it to test it. I couldn’t bog the lathe down at all and I tried, taking hogging cuts with a 5/8″ bowl gouge. I now have an excellent companion for my 3520B!

This is the lathe I have been looking for! Small enough For My shop but strong as an ox! Very “smooth” lathe…. In part due to the weight of this machine. Variable speed is seamless. This was a bit more cost than some others but it is also a LOT more quality! I bought the combination lathe/stand and was turning in about 2 hours! Not sure I could recommend this any stronger that I currently do! Had a friend over to text drive it and he went nuts…saving his pennies so he can get one!Nice job and kudos to the design and engineering teams! You guys crushed it!!Thanks again Team Powermatic!
