After reading the one negative review I was hesitant at first about this mower but upon trying it out I was pleasantly surprised. I never used a self propelled mower before and found this one to be quite good. The only thing I am not thrilled about is that this model does not have a drain valve for the oil so when you need to change the oil you will need to syphon the old oil out or tip the mover over to empty the oil can. I dont know why then just can put in an oil can drain. Otherwise, seems like a good value so far I am enjoying the self propelled feature more than expected…

Seems to run good but when it’s warmed up it seems to backfire every once in a while not sure why

The grass bag is a bit small and does not stay secured to mower while in use. As soon as it gets half full, the weight of the grass causes it to detach from mower. I suggest using the mulching attachment instead. The engine also overheats and won’t restart immediately if you have to stop mowing temporarily. It is too my understanding that this is a simple adjustment, but of course I don’t know how to do myself and have to pay to fix. Lastly, have to top up gas frequently. I am not sure if the tank is just small of if it burns gas faster. Other then that, its an inexpensive, self propelled lawnmower that works if you are on a budget.

I bought this mover on sale for around CAD 150. I’m very happy with it so far. Note that though I’ve only used it 4 times so far since I’ve bought it very late in the season. This mover is big in terms of the cutting width. It has all the features that I need. Note that its dipstick (for checking the oil level) is not screwed in, but pressure tightened instead. Therefore, make sure to push the dipstick all the way in before using this mover “every time”. If the dipstick is not fully pressed in, it can be pushed out by the oil pressure during its use and the oil can then be sprayed all over the place. I unfortunately had to find it the hard way myself 🙂

This lawn mower is pretty good, with a few caveats. I have some new mobility challenges and I found it getting harder to push our previous push mower up the inclines in our front yard so I wanted a self propelled one. The mower’s price was right and it was delivered quickly. When I met the delivery person at the curb and he saw my leg braces he carried it all the way to my backyard for me, which was appreciated! The mower can be tough to start, there is no priming bulb or decompression lever. I don’t have the stamina to mow our whole yard in one swoop and need to rest at the mid point and I find it even harder to start when it is hot, which is counterintuitive. Also the drive speed is preset, or optimized as the manual says, and cannot be modified. I find it a little too fast for me, especially on gentler slopes. I end up holding it back more than letting it pull me forward. The drive engagement is smooth and instantaneous as is the disengagement. We mulch so I do not know how well the bagger works. I find the fuel consumption to be higher than our previous mower, but then the motor is driving more components too. It was about 2/3rds the price of other brand names so I accept a few deficiencies. Sold my 10 year old one for half the price of this one so it was a win all around.

Plastic wheels on a $300 mower? Bleh. The side discharge piece didn’t fit right either. Get a Toro.

Powerful motor, easy to start. Couple of minor issues. Self propel motor can be a little fast on flat surface to keep up, only good for uphill. Bag seems to fall off from time to time as grass gets between it and the machine.

It is a good lawn mower. Easy to run and practicality runs itself. Does a great job cutting the grass. A good bargain for a good price.
