I bought this to hold a drill press. As others have said, it’s a reasonably solid stand and a bargain. Those who want a bit more stability or load capacity can add a plywood top and/or some extra washers and screws, but if properly assembled the MDF top should be fine for most purposes without modification. I’d give it five stars except for a couple of issues.First of all, the supplied hardware just isn’t good enough. They supply Phillips head screws but good luck getting the bolts tight with those! It can be done, but only with too much effort. Often people don’t get the nuts tight and then complain that the stand is wobbly. People who build more than one of these say they use their own hex head screws and I would have done that if I had known. Also, the instructions have a mistake in them — they tell you to put the lower shelves in *after* it’s assembled, but with all four cross pieces in place the bottom shelves won’t fit! This has led several people to saw the shelves down. In fact, you have to put the shelves in when one of the short side cross pieces is still off — then the cross piece can be slid up from the bottom and everything fits well. The illustrations are also too small and the instructions aren’t always super clear, though not horrible and I was able to figure things out when they were ambiguous. Finally, for those who are asking about casters, Powertec sells a retracting caster kit that attaches to the slanted legs for about $50. You can also fit regular casters in the holes in the plastic feet, but I’m not sure how much weight the feet would take.

I ordered this stand for my drill press and it met and exceeded my expectations

The stand went together quickly. Just follow the instructions and look at the pictures. The shelf boards had to be beat into submission to fall into place. I drilled the leg ends for 1/2″ stemmed casters with locks.

Easy to assemble. The shelf boards are worthless but just replaced them with stronger plywood.

A bit cumbersome to assemble but other than that a good solid bench for the right price.

The top and shelf are MDF and feel a little thin. However, they are easily replaced with better quality wood. The material on the legs also feels a bit thin, but the stand seems to be sturdy once set up.Can be improved, but it is excellent for the price.

exactly what I was looking for to hold my dress press and it’s new table. I will order another one to hold my planner.

The product is just as advertised. If the directions are followed, the stand assembles easily. Everything fit well. It is important to follow the instruction to not righten the bolts until the assembly is complete. It is surprisingly strong for being relatively light in weight. I would purchase it again.
