It’s a total mystery to me why this popper design is not the norm. It just makes sense at every level. It makes perfect popcorn without the popping corn kernels zinging out of the popper and bouncing out of the bowl! It even seems to be more forgiving in not burning the corn still in the hot air part as well. I suppose the only drawback is that you have to turn the entire thing over to dump it into the popper bowl… but I’m not sure how this isn’t infinitely better than having your finger-tips burned taking off the lava-hot top of the “normal” popper to make another batch… the lid that you put on AFTER the popcorn is finished popping in The Fountain is great as it settles the “old maids” into the cap for easy throw away… the only “old maids” left in the bowl – if any – are the partially popped kernels that are, in my opinion, the nice bits to eat… unbelievable, truly, that this design isn’t selling off the shelves… it’s a bit pricey and I had to think twice, but it is so much better to pop with than the usual, dribble out the top, kind… you’ll find you actually make more batches with this thing… Oh, the biggest pain I should mention, is that it has no on/off button and you have to unplug it, but that’s the same with a lot of the “normal” poppers as well… I highly recommend getting one of these if you eat popcorn… Home Depot is about the only retailer that I know selling it.One thing to note… if you watch a YT vid of this popper in action, they’ll usually mention light popcorn bits floating out of the top… I’ve made dozens of batches and I have to say, there’s no problem with that… you get a very tiny bit of that, but I’ll emphasize very tiny… it’s certainly not a deal-breaker by any means… I think the vids are using popcorn at room temperature… if the popcorn comes out of the freezer, it pops better and less of the “dandruff” that you’ll see in the videos… honestly, you’ll be glad you got one of these.

I got this for my wife who loves to make homemade Carmel popcorn. We’ve had it for over a month now and it has performed exceptionally. Her favorite feature is the catch at the bottom of the bowl for non-popped corn. Which is minimal because of the design of the machine. She absolutely loves it. If your looking for a great popcorn machine look no further this is it!

Easy to use

You have to watch it near the end so the popcorn does not get burned, should have an auto cut off when popcorn is almost finished.

Best method I have found for popping. No oil needed. Does not scatter onto counter.

The top of the popcorn maker doubles as a nice sized serving bowl. Not only that, but it prevents the popcorn from spilling out on the counter like most budget models available.

This is the only air popper I’ve ever used that doesn’t leave a ton of unpopped kernels when it’s done, and doesn’t spit them out everywhere. Highly recommended!

To entertain myself during the difficult time we are all presently enduring, I’ve been trying to find novel ways of entertaining myself. I bought a mosquito netting pop-up tent, so I could do urban camping and sleep out on my second floor porch. Have been watching raptors in a nearby tree out there, through binoculars I found randomly at TJ Maxx years ago.. I strung a green outdoor extension cord up from the first floor outlet, so I could also stream movies out there, and for this set up, figured I needed a popcorn maker. Since I’ve gained a few COVID lbs. the oil or the butter had to go. Obviously, it was NOT going to be the butter. So I decided on an air popper. This one is such a fun and excellent design! This is the first air popper I’ve ever owned. The ones where you put the bowl underneath often spray some unpopped kernels into the dish and popcorn ends up on the table too. The clever design of this one eliminates that problem. Also the cute bubble top doubles as the dish. A plastic lid snaps over the holes on top and.allows the hulls to fall through, out of the bowl and be contained near the lid. I set a tiny stainless steel measuring cup with a bit of butter on the top, as soon as the kernels begin to pop. By the end, the butter is melted and ready to pour over. Lastly, it is just fun to watch go! Do yourself a favor and also get popcorn salt, which is just more finely ground and sticks to the popcorn better. Honestly I before this thing, I only ate popcorn once in a blue moon — like maybe once or twice a year. This super fun and cute Orville Redenbacher Fountain Air Popper is a game changer! Might I add I have not bitten down on an unpopped kernel or encountered a whole pile at the bottom of the bowl?.

This is the best popcorn popper ever! This is the third one we have purchased recently and it is by far the best.

Very good popper. Very little waste plus a superior way to separate the few unpopped kernels from the popped corn. Only slight draw back Is there isn’t a on/ off switch. Have to unplug to stop and start.

I was a little hesitant to recommend this as it comes with caveats, the main one being that you have to baby sit it and unplug it just when the popping slows or else end up with burned kernels. It’s footprint is rather large due to the bowl on top and if one forgets to place the red top after popping before turning the bowl, then some residue will fall out. It does accomplish retaining popped and unpopped kernels unlike open air poppers which tend to leave even more of a mess.

It’s perfect!

I love this air popper!! I had an original styled popper and the kernels would some sometimes pop inside the bowl of popcorn, creating a mess.If this machine is warmed up for a minute or 2 prior to putting the kernels in, 95 – 100% of the kernels will pop, inside the dome with no mess!!Best – Purchase – Ever!!!

Overall this product works well and I am pleased with it. Details I am not happy with are; the vent lid is made of somewhat stiff plastic, and therefore is difficult to snap in place. The bowl does not have a positive fit to the base, meaning it really only sits on the base and is easily knocked off when installing the vent lid or putting the unit away on a shelf or cupboard. There is no power switch.
