The Presto ProFry 12-Cup Deep Fryer offers 1,800-Watt of power to help you quickly achieve the ideal oil temperature for a variety of foods. The deep fryer uses oblong-shaped baskets to easily fit larger foods such as chicken or fish and features an adjustable thermostat for quick temperature controls. A signal light alerts you when the oil has reached your set temperature and the cover and filter add safety by helping to prevent spattering.

On the plus side: the size of the fryer, fry a whole cut up chicken; the speed that the oil comes back to temp after adding food and the adjustable thermostat that lets you double fry French fries. Drawbacks are the flimsiness of the fryer, I don’t think they could have made this fryer any thinner; difficulty in removing the oil pan, there aren’t any lips with which to grab it. Have to take care when removing it when it is filled with a gallon of oil. If it was a little sturdier I would have rated it higher.

The fryer gets hot and stays hot. I would definitely recommend this product. The baskets are not as deep as I thought they would be. I also wish the power cord connection was a bit more firm.

I had originally been using a fry daddy from wal-mart. The warm up time is about the same but the difference is I can cook so much more food and it cooks faster and more evenly. Also because of the speed it cooks food at my food ends up much crispier and less soggy than with my previous model. I have used it almost every day for a month now and no complaints. Okra cooks at 350 for about 5 mins. French fries take about one minute longer. I have also made cheese sticks and popcorn chicken. All of it comes out perfect.

I fried jumbo shrimp and Tilapia fish and timed it just right per the instructions. I don’t want fish smell in my house so I did fry out side. I’ve been looking for a fryer since before Christmas and reading the reviews . when this went a sale while other stores didn’t I grab it! I think it’s a nice size.Fish cooks fast so if you need more in the basket just fry more .

This product does just what I wanted. It works excellently and fries food evenly. The two baskets are the way to go. For a large family you can fry a lot or even for one person with the dual baskets you have a meal I.e. Chicken and French fries etc. the baskets hang well on the side to drain excess grease. I am very very happy with my product.

Because of where the thermostat is located, my suggestion would be to use the basket to move the oil around after it reaches 350 degrees so that it accurately heats up and reads the temp of all the oil and not just the oil closest to the thermostat.
