Dehydrate fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices, as well as make great-tasting jerky and fruit rolls. This deluxe digital dehydrator includes six drying trays, expandable to 12 trays for added drying capacity. The drying trays nest when not in use for over a 40% reduction in storage space. Dehydration maintains natural vitamins and minerals-with no additives or preservatives. Make homemade jerky using your choice of meat, poultry, or seafood. Includes starter packs of jerky spice and cure. Also included are two Fruit Roll Sheets for making healthy fruit rolls and strips from fresh, frozen, or canned fruit and two Non-stick Mesh Screens for drying small and sticky foods. The digital timer and thermostat provide precise drying times and temperatures that range from 90¡ to 165¡ F. The Bottom mounted fan and heating element provide consistent air flow for optimum drying with no tray rotation necessary. A See through cover on the top tray lets you monitor drying progress. Drying trays and cover are fully immersible and dishwasher safe. Accessories sold separately. Additional Drying Trays, Fruit Roll Sheets, Non-stick Mesh Screens and Jerky Seasoning sold separately. Overall, I’m quite satisfied with this machine. Easy to operate, easy to clean, reasonably quiet, doesn’t heat up the kitchen, appreciate the clear see-through lid. Tried drying tomato strips at recommended 125 degrees F, took 8 hours. I cut that time in half by drying at 165F.I did find that, for me, drying greens was quicker and easier to do in the oven, which freed-up the dehydrator for high moisture items like tomato strips & apple slices.I give this machine a ‘GOOD’ rating , and would gladly recommend.

Never owned one of these before, but have always loved beef jerky. Researched online, found that this Presto (digital) model had the highest ranking on most foodie sites; its rated #2 (behind a $250 dehydrator!) on America’s Test Kitchen/Cook’s Illustrated. Have made several runs now. Converted about 4-5 lb of top round steak into outstanding jerky in 6 hrs, and the machine was only about 3/4 full. [Tip: use the jerky marinade recipe from Alton Brown on Food Network; let meat sit for 12 hr.]. 4 hours of drying took care of an entire pineapple and made a sweet, delicious batch of “chips”. Excellent uniformity in temperature produces a uniform dried product. Simple, easy, idiot proof controls AND unlike other devices, the racks are dishwasher safe.. Extras include special racks for making fruit leather, and 2 fine screen racks for small stuff like berries. Biggest problem is that my son gave some of his friends a taste of the beef jerky, and now I’m deluged with “requests”!

I purchased this to make my dog his own treats! So much more economical to do so! He absolutely loves both the chicken and liver treats and I am on to making sweet potato and apple. I will be doing lots of fruits and vegetables this summer. I love this dehydrator and being able to control the temperature is a feature I was looking for. It stacks down for easy storage. I finally found an appliance that I have used over and over and the price is excellent for this product and what you get! I like that I can add more trays to it also. The product works. It dehydrated as implied by it’s name. Simple and straight forward to use. Surprisingly minimal noise output during operation. Have only had it for a few weeks. Digital display vs. analog temp. control…time will tell. This item only comes with 6 trays not 10. Home Depot is in the process of correcting this item’s description. The number of trays included did not affect performance. Wish I would have purchased the Jerky Gun also.Overall: good product so far and Home Depot has great customer service.
