I’ve been using it roughly weekly for a little over a month, mostly for bacon and eggs.Pros: * It works. (Its 55-year-old all-aluminum predecessor no longer did: its power cord recently failed). * The temperature control seems to do a good job of regulating the temp; no noticeable hot spots. * Because the base folds, it fits in our cabinet (barely). Cons: * It’s bigger than we need, but had better reviews than smaller (square) units. * I find the Teflon-like coating to be mostly a negative: hard to pick up eggs, which slide around, pushed by the plastic spatula; can’t use a knife on it to prepare or cut up food; other reviews suggest it won’t last long (3 to 5 years?). But it seems you can no longer find a unit without some kind of non-stick coating.* Glass lid is *very* heavy — and doesn’t really let you see inside when it steams up. (Some say it shatters spontaneously; we’ll see. I think tempered glass is susceptible to small scratches, so I try to be careful with it.)Neutral: * Cleaning is about the same as for our old pan, Food slides off easily (good, because it can’t take a stainless steel scrubbing pad). But it still must be scrubbed with dish soap and a dishcloth, then dried, then re-assembled in its folded arrangement after it’s fully dry. Overall, a bit fussy.
