This superfine sander with linear sanding motion (versus rotary or orbital) operates at 8,000 strokes per minute with a 3/32 in. (2.5 mm) stroke. It is ideal for surfaces, slots and tight corners. Included are four sanding attachments with straight shanks and 4 with angled shanks (four different shapes per shank style) as well as 3 sheets of pre-profiled adhesive sanding pads. The sheets are 180, 240 and 400-grit, with 5 of each shape per sheet. An AC adapter of at least 12-Volt – 18-Volt DC and 1 Amp is required (sold seperately). We recommend Proxxon power supplies NG 2/S or NG 5/E. The electronic speed control on the NG 5/E unit allows the selection of different speeds for different applications and materials.

This is a little gem of a detail sander. Rougher Coates of sandpaper should be offered

This is a great little sander that does exactly what I need it to do in tight spots. Just remember to get the Transformer (NG 2/S) along with it as it will not work with the US outlets!

The product needs a 12v adapter. It is not part of the purchase, and not explicitly explained on the net-site.

I have been looking for a small detail sander for building wooden model ships, someting that can get to all the little nooks. Works well and very easy to handle . It is light and small which is great. My only dissapointment is the poor quality and amount of adhesive sanding sheet provided. Proxxon are great hobbist tools.

Works very well. I build wood ship and boat models. Old one died after a year or so and I’m replacing it. So yes, I like these a lot.

I love how it works and how it handles. It does a great quick job in small places. Speeds up the work considerably.

I think this tool was exactly what I was looking for. Now you have to order the power supply separately and don’t forget to order more sanding pads as it does go through them fairly fast. Only real gripe I have is that the sanding pads are not labeled with their roughness grade.

Excellent sander but sandpaper is cheap, won’t last long. Do yourself a favor and buy the adhesive 220 grit and cut them for use. They’ll last longer. And if you have a laser you can cut a bunch and one time (cricut and silhouette machines won’t cut the sandpaper, fyi).

Product delivers as promised. Great for detail sanding and small enough for many tight spots.

For a tiny little thing, this instrument does a wonderful job. I do recommend cutting a different grit sand paper and gluing it on top of the ones they provide, it makes it last a LOT LONGER. I used super glue that dried instantly and I was able to sand away. The paper I used is still in new condition with no wear. The pen does not overheat, but frequent breaks are recommended. I would say every hour a 15 minute break would keep the pen in excellent shape for a lifetime.
