No matter if you’re a business professional taking meetings, a vlogger who is streaming, or an e-sports enthusiast, the PTZOptics Webcam 80 V2 excels at video conferencing and live streaming. Upgraded with an app-based OSD, it features a resolution of up to Full HD 1080p, auto focus, and frame rates of up to 30 fps to deliver crisp video with smooth motion. Dual beamforming mics help ensure your voice is center stage, while an 80° horizontal field of view creates a suitable image area. Details are further enhanced by a 1.5 to 8x digital zoom. An LED indicator illuminates when the camera is in use and, when the camera is not in use, you can safeguard your privacy using the included privacy cover. The camera can be further fine-tuned using digital pan, tilt, and zoom controls.
This camera connects to your host system using plug-and-play USB 2.0, which also provides bus power. It may be mounted using the attached mounting base or 1/4″-20 tripod thread.

Very sharp picture out of the box. Also at the time of purchase cheaper than a c920, and looks better.

Beautiful pictures. V2 still has the PTZ capability but you now have to use the Webcam Config Tool to ‘aim’ the camera. The PTZ Controller 1.4.1 does not currently work with V2. Perhaps they will change this. Absolutely first class support from the manufacturer (distributor) in Downingtown, PA, even for this little $90 purchase

Bought this webcam for my wife for some training meetings she leads on Zoom and Googlemeet to place on an extended monitor she uses in her meetings. I was reluctant to purchase such a cheap camera but her company did not give her much of a budget. Video is much better than her Mac camera and she can look at the at the screen that her audience is on while looking at the camera. It was very easy to connect and set as primary for her training meetings without breaking the budget.

I’ve been looking for a webcam with zoom capability at a reasonable price. I though my search was over when I purchased this camera. Unfortunately not. It comes with virtually no instructions, which doesn’t bother me if it is an intuitive produce. However, not so for this camera. You have to go to their website and download software, which you have to guess at what you need to download. All said and done, the software is sub-par and I was not able to get the zoom function working. Tried everything – then I see a note about needing to have the latest firmware, but no place to download from. Then I also notice a warning note that if not done properly, you will brick the camera. I don’t know what PTZ was thinking, but going through all of this was not my expectation for a new product. I’m suspicious of the other 2 reviews, because I am very computer savy – it’s my job at work to be so. Anyway, it’s on it’s way back to B&H – on with the search!

The PTZOptics Webcam v2 provides a nice wide, adjustable angle of view. Optics are sharp, built-in mic is fine and the physical lens cap is a nice privacy touch. Further, the flexible mount works well.

An apparent limitation of this camera when used on a Mac is that the camera doesn’t/can’t save the image settings that you configure in the camera settings app when the camera loses power. So, if you make adjustments to the camera, then unplug the camera and plug it back into the same computer, the camera is again at stock settings. According to PTZOptics customer support, this is a limitation on the Mac with how Macs handle UVC settings. As a result, you either have to hope your camera/computer doesn’t ever lose power or get unplugged, or take careful notes of the settings you use in the config app so that you can repeat them each time as needed. This totally rules out the use of this camera on my Mac as I need reasonable image quality every time without fuss. I don’t mind using the software to configure the camera the first time, but needing to do it every time would be a no-go in my book. I haven’t tried this on a Windows machine, but I assume it would work differently.

I got this for use with my external monitor for virtual meetings. Easy to move between my Mac and my husbands PC. Plug and Play- various apps have no difficulty finding it and using it. Much better camera than what came with my MacBook Air and MacBook Pro. I didn’t realize it came with integrated microphone until that option displayed as a selection. Nice bonus.
