I love this measuring cup! I’ve had a four cup capacity Pyrex liquid measuring cup for several years and I especially like using it when I make candies for the holidays, in addition to many other everyday uses. I always have leftover melted chocolate from my candy making and need to cover it with plastic wrap and it never stays fresh enough but with the lid on this new eight cup size, that problem no longer exists! It goes straight from prep to storage! Love it

I am enjoying using my 8 cup measuring cup. The reason I ordered it was that I wanted to have a vessel in which I could measure and microwave the morning oatmeal without it overflowing and making a mess in the microwave. This size does quite nicely for that. The one little problem is that there is a flaw in the glass. There’s a spec of something embedded in the glass. Pyrex used to have a return item for flaw sticker on their products. They no longer have that. This is not a stock item for Home Depot or any places else for that matter. I don’t want to go through the hassle of returning and reordering so I opted for keeping the flawed item. Come on Pyrex, where’s your quality control?

The 8-cup measuring cup is a useful size which is very difficult to find. The glass is sturdy and durable, as you would expect from a Pyrex product, and the 8-cup size opens up more uses. Use it to “watch bread rise”–you will easily be able to see when the dough doubles in size. Use it to brew iced tea: microwave 1/2 gallon (8 cups) of water, add tea bags and brew, add honey or sugar while tea is hot, then pour over a glass of ice. The lid makes it easy to store the tea in the refrigerator after cooling. Use it to measure those large amounts needed for some recipes, such as 8 cups of bread cubes for bread pudding, or 6 cups of sliced apples for pie. It is a useful measuring cup, of excellent quality, at a reasonable price.

I purchased this as a birthday gift for my sister. She loved it! It’s perfect for making and storing the nectar we make for the hummingbirds we feed. We feed them year round here and it’s handy to have some made when they go through it so quickly!

I love this measuring container. It is the perfect size for what I do & has a wonderful lid that can be used to seal air free or turn it it & get ventilation for things like my sourdough. That lid is worth it’s weight in gold to me as I don’t have to use saran wrap or foil to cover the container.
