Although I haven’t used the measuring cup yet it is exactly what I wanted. I am glad that I finally have a large measuring cup that has a (tight fitting) lid. I was a little afraid that it might arrive broken but it did not.

We have the smaller 2cup version, have had it for years. It’s one of the most useful kitchen utensils we own. Problem was it gets used alot, and is only 2 cups. Decided to add another and up scale. All our Pyrex products are the most useful items in our kitchen.

Pyrex has always been my go-to for quality measuring cups. I remember my mom and grandma having them when I was a kid and the brand was just known for it’s durability. Now in my own kitchen, as an adult, of course I choose things I am familiar with. I bought this large pyrex measuring cup thinking it would just be what it is, a measuring cup. It ended up being a lot more then that! Number one it is huge. I use this thing all the time to heat up food, store food, measure, and I’ve also eaten out of it before (don’t judge). Haha. Anyways, it comes with a lid so it is almost easier to use this vs a container that clicks into place. Glass is important to me, I try to make sure all my containers are glass and not plastic. I appreciate that this lid that came with the pyrex is BPA free. I know you can usually put plastic in the top rack of the dishwasher but I have always hand washed this part—just a personal preference. The container itself is microwave and dishwasher safe so I feel like I don’t even need to think twice about caring for the product. Not to mention the price is excellent. To be honest, I went back and purchased more then one of these. The measuring labels on it are clearly marked and I have used this thing so much and the labeling is still intact. Thankfully, the glass doesn’t hold a smell from food that was stored in it. I hate when you wash something twice or three times and it still smells. I don’t know anyone who isn’t happy with pyrex products but I have to say if you don’t have this size measuring cup that also works as food storage or a bowl, you need to join the hype. The only thing I would change is doing different colored tops. I only seemed to find red ones which is fine for the most part but having color to differentiate things wouldn’t hurt. Did I mention it has a handle ?! 🙂

I use this for everything from fudge to vegetable stew. It is great for mixing and for cooking in the microwave. I use it to store leftovers and then put in microwave to reheat. It is a wonderful hostess gift or just a random useful item!

Over the course of the past 3 years I have purchased over 20 of these. I have 2 for my kitchen and the rest have been gifts. I prefer this design- I do not like the new design that is more angled. The lid is microwaveable and also top-rack dishwasher safe. The bowl is great for everything. You can make tea in the microwave in it- or mix up cakes in it. We use this item every day- I am thinking about getting another one because sometimes I have both of them in the fridge holding left-overs and need another one to be available. Everyone I have given this to as a gift has raved over it- and then later told me that they don’t know how they ever lived without it! A must have!
