I love this measuring cup! I’ve had a four cup capacity Pyrex liquid measuring cup for several years and I especially like using it when I make candies for the holidays, in addition to many other everyday uses. I always have leftover melted chocolate from my candy making and need to cover it with plastic wrap and it never stays fresh enough but with the lid on this new eight cup size, that problem no longer exists! It goes straight from prep to storage! Love it

The 8-cup measuring cup is a useful size which is very difficult to find. The glass is sturdy and durable, as you would expect from a Pyrex product, and the 8-cup size opens up more uses. Use it to “watch bread rise”–you will easily be able to see when the dough doubles in size. Use it to brew iced tea: microwave 1/2 gallon (8 cups) of water, add tea bags and brew, add honey or sugar while tea is hot, then pour over a glass of ice. The lid makes it easy to store the tea in the refrigerator after cooling. Use it to measure those large amounts needed for some recipes, such as 8 cups of bread cubes for bread pudding, or 6 cups of sliced apples for pie. It is a useful measuring cup, of excellent quality, at a reasonable price.

Finally I have found a glass container to boil water in a microwave for iced tea. It can handle the heat and cold. I boil the water in a microwave, add my tea bags. Then when brewed down and cooled down a bit, I can easily pour the tea into a pitcher. I love it!!!

I use this way more than I thought. It is the perfect shape short and wide. I love doing beans in a crock pot so it works for soaking your beans and measuring out the 6 cups of water needed to cook them. Honestly if it broke tomorrow I would buy another.
