This is a great set. I’ve been trying to phase plastic storage containers out of our home. I’m not necessarily hugely concerned about the health, but it does seem better to reheat in glass than plastic. Primarily I think the plastic can get gross and retain smells. However, these glass containers wear well and do not retain and odor or flavor from the previous contents. There’s a nice assortment of sizes–I can store leftovers from a big dinner or just a little bit of leftover dressing without a problem. They are obviously glass and therefore breakable but the quality is good–I’ve sent them in my kids lunchboxes with leftover food like chili without any issues with breakage or leaking.

The Pyrex 16-piece Simply Store glass storage set is the perfect addition to our left-over food storage needs. My cook has been slowly replacing plastic containers with glass because she tells me you don’t want to reheat in plastic. Okay. There are many other reasons to like this product: 1) They take up minimal space in the cupboard because they nest nicely, 2) Food can be reheated in the same container it was stored in, 3) Both microwave and oven safe, 4) They are freezer safe, 5) Relatively easy clean-up and “top rack” dishwasher safe, 6) Union-made in the USA, 7) Affordable 8) Two-year limited warranty, and, more importantly, 9) My wife (she is also the cook) likes them! What’s in the box: seven glass storage containers (assorted sizes from 7-cup to 1-cup) with lids, plus two extra lids. It might be noted that the lids are only to be used for storage and microwave reheating, and, extreme temperature changes (e.g. freezer to preheated oven) should be avoided.

This storage set is great. I can store food or small articles like tacks or small nails in them. The covers fit nice and tight and seal well and they do not leak if a liquid is stored in them. You can not use them in the freezer tho that is the only bad thing about them I can thing to say. Also, keep them away from young kids since if they drop one it will shatter on a herd surface. I give it a good 5 ratinf.

I finally decided to get rid of all my plastic containers. I always end up microwaving them and putting them through the dishwasher. These product are looks great , The Pyrex 16-Piece Nested Storage Set can be used in microwave and oven. These bowls are a fantastic addition to my kitchen. I expect to get years of use out of them. Time and time again, you can’t go wrong with Pyrex. Pyrex bowls are always top quality glass and the lids fit better than any other name brand glass bowl. In the picture I demonstrate just how sealed with a bowl of ripe olives in water turned upside-down. These glass bowls are microwave safe and go from the freezer to the oven (without the plastic lid) without an issue. Could not be more pleased.
